Lancome Juicy Tubes Are Back

Did you know that Juicy Tubes made a welcome comeback this Summer? I've only just gotten around to getting some and I hadn't realized how much I had missed them.

Like many of us, they were a staple of mine back in the early 2000s. One year my bestie gave me the 7 Days of Juicy Tubes gift for Christmas. I loved it , with one fruit flavor for every day.  I think the blueberry and lemon were my favs.

Now they're back and while wearing lipcolor has gotten harder I'm rocking mine when I walk the dog.  There are new shades as well as some old favorites and the formula remains the same. There's still loads of moisture, non tacky shine and varying levels of tint.  Hello Cherry is bright jelly with a good pop of sheer color, Fig Hit  is creamy muted nude, Marshmallow Electro is a shimmering sheer pink while Pure is simply clear.  There are 20  colors in all along with cute gift sets for holiday. With cool temps here these are  balm like but with more oomph. Just what we need.

Available at Lancome online and Lancome counters for $ 25.

Lancome Artliner-Spring 2016

Lancome 's very good Artliner liquid eyeliner debuts some new colors for Springtime.

These fine pointed liners have strong pigment, stay in place and the line glides on easily if you're not familiar with them.

New are  Jade and Amethyst( both LE), Violet. There are six permanent shades in all along with the limited ones.

Violet is a deeper plum purple where Amethyst is a bit brighter. Jade is a deep olive green . All are beautiful and I've enjoyed wearing and trying them the past couple days.

Lancome Artliner is $ 30.50  and available now.

Lancome Juicy Shakers

Boom Meringue, Freedom Of Peach, Show Me The Honey

Remember when Lancome's Juicy Tubes came out in 2000? They were a huge hit and we all wanted some. My bestie bought me that Christmas a Seven Days Of The Week set and I loved it, especially the blueberry and lemon ones.

Sixteen (gulp) years later we have new Juicy Shakers. These new cuties are a little different than the tubes but still have the fun factor.

Juicy Shakers come in a martini shaker inspired container and are part oils including apricot, rose de muscat, cranberry and almond , part pigments. You "shake" them to mix and there's a little ball in there to get them mixed.

The color payoff is sheer , with the one shade I have Freedom Of Peach having just a little more color than the other two. They give a nice wash of color along with a good shot of moisture. They feel very good on lips, not heavy and have a shine to them, not a gloss but more than balm.

For the upcoming Summer and  Spring now they're kind of perfect.

You'll see in the one image the applicator, which is a little sponge that picks up color as you shake. I find that I do need two shakes and applications to get the amount of color I want. The sponge doesn't hold tons of color but each time is just enough for each lip and they do build some.

Each of the 20 shades has a candy fruit scent and each is slightly different. It's strong but they smell good, just something to know depending on how you feel about fragrance.

Lancome Juicy Shakers are $ 21 and available Apr. 11th.

Lancome Drama Liqui -Pencil

A pencil with the soft smoothness of a liquid ?  I'll take it. I'll admit me and liquid pencils are iffy .

Lancome's fabulous new  Drama Liqui Pencil helps solve that.  It's a super soft pencil that glides right over eyes . It's easy to use as well as being long wear.  And for early morning? We need that.  Or at least I do.

Despite the softness of the pencil once it's on it stays really well and  on me that's the most important part of an eye pencil. With my eye makeup melt I need something that doesn't smudge down my eyes and there are few that make that grade.  Drama Liqui does .

The one downside to all that softness is the tip wears down with a few strokes. It smushes easily .  I'm willing to deal for all the other benefits here.

Lancome  Drama Liqui Eye Pencil comes in 16 shades and is $ 23 exclusively at Sephora .

( Shades shown are Pluie and Embrase )

Lancome Miracle Cushion Compact Foundation

The news that Lancome was doing a cushion compact foundation broke some time ago and I've been waiting since to test it out. This type of foundation is a huge trend in Asia and while you can get some Asian brands  online this is the one of the few first US brands to debut one.  And Lancome knows how to do a great foundation.

I generally love a compact foundation anyway , usually a powder type but creamy ones too if they work for my skin type. You can apply them quickly and keep them handy for touch ups.

Miracle Cushion has  a nice light feel on skin . It goes on easily with the included sponge and blends right out.  The coverage is light to medium and buildable but it doesn't build too far . You'll get just to barely medium coverage but it does make skin look smoothed and  covers some imperfections.

This has a slightly dewy look to it once on.  While I loved how it worked and looked,  over the course of the day it didn't do well with my oily skin. I got a lot of oil breakthrough and of course with the weather warming up my skin is heading into it's oilier phase. If you have normal to drier skin this is a great foundation.  If it was more matte , for me, it would be a total win. (Glycerin and Ester ( a synthetic ) Oil are two ingredients for hydration, along with adenosine for brightening)

The compact comes with an air tight sealed compartment to keep the product safe. The sponge sits on top of the lid and you close the main top lid over that. It's easy to tap the sponge on the cushion , and you can grab a lot or a little product this way.

Miracle Cushion comes in 11 shades and as mine was a sample, the label was peeled and I do not know for sure what shade it is . I think it's 140 Ivoire.

Lancome Miracle Cushion Compact Foundation is $ 47 and the compact is refillable.

Lancome Nude Miracle Foundation

It's a good time to be a foundation fan. The past couple months have seen a wealth of new launches  , none more so than in the fluid foundation category.

New from Lancome is Nude Miracle.   They define it as a liquid to powder  makeup with a weightless feel and  that describes it really well.

The foundation is a thin but not runny thin liquid that applies and blends so easily. ( I use fingers not the attached wand). It sets to a semi matte finish. It's not quite totally matte  and isn't dry looking or feeling on skin .  The formula has a slicker feel than a  true matte and I did notice  in the ingredients that this isn't  oil free.  Rosa canina fruit  oil is listed about midway down the ingredient list.

The foundation is  not in any way oily or dewy but I thought that needed mentioning. This is a good choice for oily skins  and I found that it kept the oil at bay pretty well except in the T Zone after several hours. That's normal for me with almost any foundation  especially when it's warm out.  I think this  makes it a possible great choice for winter's cold months for those with slightly oily to normal skins , which is basically where I fall in that season.

Coverage is light to medium , leaning more medium and it is buildable for a soft focus, smoothed skin look that feels barely there.  SPF is 15.

Lancome has always been a foundation fav of mine . I think my first ever was one of theirs  and Nude Miracle keeps that tradition going.

Lancome Nude Miracle Foundation is $ 42  , comes in 14 shades ( shown is 110 Ivoire)  and is currently exclusive to  Sephora  .

Lancome Baume In Love - Summer 2014 French Riviera

It's no secret I adore luxe lip balms. The new Baume In Love from Lancome's French Riviera Summer collection have my attention right now. I hadn't explored the first releases of these and now there are new shades.

Setting aside the balm itself, I am totally in love with the packaging. No plastic here, they are heavy silver tubes with Lancome embossed across the bottom circle. Very elegant and chic,  far more than we usually see for a balm or well frankly a lot of lip packaging these days. Putting on your lip balm becomes just a little more glam with packaging like this and I freely admit to being a sucker for that.

Peche Pout, O'Honey,Berry Crush, Very Cherry

Baume In Love are very sheer with the darker shades having more color than the lighter.  Peche Pout is a barely there shade giving just a hint of color. O'Honey has a bit of pink to it as does the red shade, Very Cherry.

These are very creamy and moisturizing with shea butter in them but feel light on. They do leave a sheen on lips as well as a light stain,  but there is no heavy shine or shimmer.

Balms like this are great for those who like a lighter look , or as a topping over a deeper shade, something I think I'll be doing with Peche Pout a lot. For Summer, they are an easy , no fuss, swipe on and go lip product .

Lancome Baume In Love are $ 26

Lancome Show by Alber Elbaz- Mint Jolie Eyes & Definicils Mascara

Lancôme jumped into the collab world with their cute Show Collection  from Alber Elbaz, the designer behind the glorious Lanvin line.

Show is  eye palettes and mascaras, which  particularly are fun. We don't see designed mascara tubes too often outside of MAC's special editions. Yes, it's just a mascara tube that usually gets tucked away, but why not have fun looks on them too ?

Each Lancôme  mascara  has a coordinating palette ,  outside package design wise. You can buy whatever you want, but for instance here the Definicils has green eyes on it's packaging and is teamed with the Mint Jolie palette  . Mint Jolie has the same box and cover lid design. You'll get the same with the black and blue stars of Midnight Rush palette and Hypnose Star mascara, and so on.

Mint Jolie has a well pigmented mint shade at it's core along with 4 other shades to highlight and define. Lancôme adds a plastic topper with where each shade can/should go as well as a guide pamphlet inside the box.  The taupe and deeper green shade meant as a liner are very pretty  and all are wearable on their own or used together.

Four Lancôme mascara are in the  Show Collection, Hypnose Star, Drama and Doll as well as Definicils and there are 4 eye palettes, Rose Coquette, Taupe Craze, and Midnight Rush in addition to Mint Jolie.

Lancôme Show Eye Palette is $ 51
Lancôme Show Mascara $ 29

Lancome Gloss In Love - Peach Show

Things are just peachy with Lancome's Gloss In Love in Peach Show. Since this landed on my desk a week ago I've worn it many days. I had heard raves from one of my blogging buddies Musings of a Muse and while we don't always agree , this time I knew she  was onto something.

Gloss in Love is the new-ish  luxury gloss from Lancome .  This is a gloss that glides across lips and feels lush on.  With my shade Peach Glow there is medium pigment. It's not totally sheer but  not deep either. It's a lovely warm shade with shine and  shimmer fire.   I also like using over a rich coral lipliner and blending them together . Alone it's just enough color, not bold but not light.

Gloss in Love is very moisturizing and while it feels like a gloss it's  not super sticky.

Lux glosses are hard on the budget but so easy on the lips. Grab one of these for a summer lip splurge, I don't think you'll be disappointed .

Also  , Gloss in Love features a very nifty opening. You click  a button and poof, up pops your curved doe foot gloss wand. Use, then click it down. No twist cap. Sweet.

Lancome Gloss in Love is $ 27 in 18 shades at Sephoraand www.lancome.com

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24HR Foundation

Spring is looking the summer of matte foundations and I couldn't be happier. We've had dewy foundation launches for a long time and us oily gals want something new and need all the help we can get.

One of the new  foundations is Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24 hr.  This is full coverage ( yay) and darn good. Many mattes seem to lean towards light coverage which is not my favorite. No worries here. Skin looks flawless and perfected and it leaves  a nice soft finish that is  matte but not overly so and definitely not a  dry , cakey or powdery finish.

One of the best parts is that is feels like nothing on. More  like barely there coverage than full.  That's hard to pull off with full coverage. But it feels like a dream on your face.  Lancome says it took 6 years to perfect this technology and calls it EternaSoft. Whatever it is, I like it.

It's also long wear. Now  you may have heard me mention a few gazillion times that I have major makeup melt. So longwear is different for me than many. I do get a nice wear time from this but not that much more than my other foundations. I get  most of the day basically from AM to  mid-late evening. There's no major wear by then but  I might need a little touch up here and there like around the nose.  That doesn't affect how much I like this since it's what I expect from most foundations and really I don't need 24HR wear.

Teint Idole Ultra 24 HR is $44 at all Lancome outlets.

Shade shown is 110 Ivoire (C)

Lancome Vernis In Love Nail Polish

While at fashion week I had a chance to try the new Vernis in Love nail  polish from Lancome. This new polish comes in  17  shades and coordinates with the new Rouge In Love  lipsticks.  The bottle is a new design as is the brush, said to be easier to use and "mistake free".  It certainly was easy enough for the nail tech and I was done ,polish and top coat quickly.

My shade is  Rose Pitimini . These have good shine even before topcoat and it lasted long. A  week , with some tip wear by day 5, but I am very hard on my nail tips. I  tend to get tip wear fast no matter what polish it is.
Chris Benz
At Chris Benz's fall fashion show last week  this was the polish used on the models. Shown in pic is Noir Caviar, a dark-gray-almost-black shade topped with a matte finish.

Available now exclusive to Nordstrom and www.lancome.com  and on all counters  in May. $ 15.00 each
