Chanel Mousse Exfoliante Purete Cleanser

I had just finished my loved Chanel Gel Purete cleanser when the new Mousse Exfoliante Purete came out.

Of course I needed to try it.

This mousse has a small amount of exfoliating beads in it. But it is a small amount. Nothing really abrasive, just very slight scrubbing.

This is a cleanser that is very gentle to skin but gets it clean. The mousse feels soft on your face, and your face feels soft after cleansing. It is less drying than the gel, and for me I think will be better suited to the colder months. It foams up well and you you need a very small amount to use. It seems no matter how small I use I still end up with more than I need.

Another top addition to the Chanel cleanser line. These may be more expensive, but hands down are some of the best I've used.

Meant to be for oily/combo but really suited for all skin types I think, except very dry.

$ 45.00 for 5 oz

Vapour Organic Cosmetics

Vapour is an all organic line and a collab between a longtime company in New Mexico interested in making non toxic products for women and Eric Sakas, who spent years working with the legendary Kevyn Aucoin. Together they have created a line that uses as many certified organic ingredients as possible and mineral pigments. Each product listing gives you the percentage and full ingredient list.

Vapour's formulas are mostly creams. The foundation, concealer, blush, eyeshadows , lipstick.
I gravitated to the lipsticks, as all products first ingredient is Sunflower oil. I knew I couldn't wear any foundation/ blush with that in it.

I find the lipsticks to be very long wearing which is nice. Siren Knock Out( shown) is going to be the perfect berry for fall. It dries down to a nice stain . Since these last well, they make great bases under other colors as well. Despite the oil in them, they are not as creamy as you would think. A bit drier and they take some blending.

There is also a great clear lip conditioner called Lux that is super moisturizing. This one is 95 % organic .The Illusionist concealer is also quite good. Again, a harder formula but once you get it going it blends well and covers nicely. The tiny tube is a great one to carry in your purse .

I am not a fan of the packaging though. One of my tubes of lipstick stopped turning after 1 use. It broke somehow. The others have moments when they don't go back down well. If they correct this, they will be on their way to an even better product.

Vapour is currently only at http://www.vapourbeauty.com/ as far as I know, but I wouldn't doubt more distribution is on the way.

Illusionist concealer $ 20.00
Siren lipstick $19.00
Lux Lip Conditioner $ 16.00

Sebastian at Costello Tagliapietra

Sebastian has always been one of my top hair brands. They only did a few shows this fashion week season, but the looks from Costello Tagliapietra were so pretty.

The stylist gives tips on how you can recreate some of this at home.

(The makeup here was done by MAC using Industry Powerpoint on eyes, Studio MoistureTint applied where needed, Optimistic Orange Creme Blush and Ember (new) Lipglass.)

To do a modern twist on a ‘40s staple, Sebastian Professional lead stylist Thomas Dunkin recommends a method of building texture and shape with techniques that keep the hair looking soft, romantic and not too “done.” Finish with an elastic touchable texturizer or flexible shine spray to create a look that’s elegant yet playful.

Here’s how to create your own ‘40s inspired faux bob:
1) Apply Sebastian Professional Texturizer to damp hair; distribute evenly throughout.
2) Blow hair out straight with a medium to large-sized round brush.
3) Spray hair with a flexible hairspray for added texture, section hair, curl it with a medium-sized barrel curling iron and set.
4) Take out pins, gently brush out the curls and then roll hair under, section by section, fastening it under at the neck with bobby pins.
5) Apply Microweb Fiber to hands and gently work through the front of the hair to create an imperfect, lived-in effect. Finish by misting with a strong-hold hairspray.

Products used:
Texturizer – Flexible bodifying liquigel for bendable texture
Microweb Fiber – Elastic texturizer for malleable, touchable texture
ReShaper – Brushable, humidity-resistant strong hold hairspray
Shine Define – The ultimate versatile hairspray for shine and flexible hold *(One of my absolute fav, best hairsprays )

Taylor Momsen Hits NY Fashion Week 2010

Gossip Girl's Little J herself, Taylor Momsen hit the tents at Bryant Park for some fashion shows yesterday.

Now all I can say here, is kids don't try this at home. While I like her hair for the most part and even her too smoky eyes and the jacket, thigh highs as pants don't cut it. What is it with people leaving off the bottoms of outfits anymore? Aren't minis, mini enough? Poor thing's legs look like sticks. She pulls of the louche rocker look well otherwise.
