Glenn Close at the 2012 Oscars

I'm not doing much in the way of the Oscar beauty round ups, because let's face it, everyone else is practically. You'll see more red carpet coverage than you can imagine, right ? But I am doing Glenn Close. Why ? Because she looked amazing with her freshly blonded hair and perfect shade of lipstick and I bet that almostt no one features her since she isn't a starlet of the moment. No, she's a star and a lady, more like a dame. She worked a green Zac Posen dress and her makeup was all by Chanel.

Here's the breakdown including  a new beauty serum per makeup artist Cathy Highland:

Skincare: The night before Glenn used CHANEL Sublimage La Creme Texture Supreme ($390.00). Before I applied the makeup, I used CHANEL Hydra Beauty Serum (Available April 2012).

Foundation:   CHANEL Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF 15 ($45.00). It was set and finished off with CHANEL Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Translucent 1 ($45.00).

Blush: CHANEL Powder Blush in In Love ($43.00).

Eye Shadow: I covered the lid with the shimmery CHANEL Illusion D'Ombre in Émerveille ($36.00). I then blended the darker green shadow from CHANEL Quadra Eyeshadow in Lilium ($58.00) up to the crease creating a soft, classic smoky eye.

Eye Brows: CHANEL Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in Blond Clair ($29.00).

Eye Liner: I used CHANEL Precision Eye Definer in Brun ($29.00). I like to emphasize the lash line with a very fine line of black. My personal trick is using a tiny brush and dipping it into the black waterproof mascara for a ‘stay in place’ application for a long day.

Lipstick
Lastly, I applied CHANEL Rouge Coco Shine Lipshine in Unique ($32.50), a reddish berry pink with gold sparkles.

I preferred her look too. Elegant and casual, and she looked comfortable. Indeed, Miss Close was a testament to the comforts of age.

Thanks Chatchien. She definitely looks every bit as good as the other red carpet ladies.
