Max Factor Limited Edition US Capsule Collection

Max is back, Max Factor that is, back in US stores for limited time .

The four piece capsule collection is the first we've seen of the brand here in the States for some time. It's welcome return. Now can we get Pan Stick back, please?

There are two pretty nude lipstick shades- Maroon Mist which is a deep warm caramel nude and Simply Nude , a pale pink nude. Both are the Colour Elixir formula which has a creamy satin, full pigment finish and look/ feel pretty fab on.

Also available is Masterpiece MAX Mascara  and  Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner. The mascara does a very good job of lengthening and volumizing lashes without clumping and the eyeliner has a fine point to make a thin line or a cat eye and dries quickly.

Are you excited to see Max Factor back ? Will you be picking any of these up?

Each piece retails for 9.99  at drugstores and mass market stores.

Chanel Rouge Profond Blush- Fall 2016

Chanel Fall Le Rouge Collection #1 is the first under new creative director Lucia Pica and she's created a collection all about red.

The new blush is Rouge Profond. I love a red blush and the first one I ever had was also a Chanel a long time ago. Late '80s I think. I bet if I dug real hard in the closet it's still around .  This new shade is a wearable red for most skintones I think. I am fair but not super pale and I have a little bit of Summer color so it looks good when used with a light hand. Like most Chanel blushes it blends easily.

If you are porcelain fair you it might be too much for you, but it might not. If you like it try it. On deeper skintones it should look fabulous .

The shade is a matte brick red although it has a the tiniest bit of pearl and that gives it dimension . It's incredibly pretty and very much a wakeup makeup color.

Chanel Rouge Profond Blush is available now for $ 45

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Powder

Maybelline's newest pressed powder for us oily gals comes with acne treatment salicylic acid built in.

Superstay Better Skin - Skin Transforming Powder is a matte powder that also has light/medium coverage. It's not heavy but not sheer and not only mattes without looking too dry but also fills in and hides pores and perfects, smoothes skin. The  extra coverage is nice too, when the oil on your nose has broken down your foundation from it's AM application.

As for the salicylic acid, it's far down in the ingredients and I'm not sure how much gets through to skin but I'll take a little extra help to keep oil at bay and pores clearer.

I really like how this looks and works.  It holds up nicely although usually not all day. I recall Maybelline's Super Stay foundations being really long wear. Harder to get that in a powder, but the coverage here lasts longer than many powders, easily half a day on me  and depending on what foundation I've used, longer.

I use this both over my foundation right off the morning to smooth and add a bit more coverage or over my foundation midday and/or evening . If I use first thing it definitely extends foundations wear/look.  It will work on bare skin or over a BB/ CC nicely too, giving just enough coverage .

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Powder comes in eight shades and is available now.

Shades shown are Warm Nude and Classic Ivory.

Matrix Total Results Moisture Me Rich Haircare

I'm going to cut to the chase here, the conditioner from this  duo from Matrix is the most hydrating I've ever used. It's an instant moisture bath for hair.

Now I haven't used everything out there, my hair has only started to need deeper hydration in the past year or so but I've tried a decent amount, plenty of them good but this is better.

The shampoo cleanses well and has light moisture. It lathers up some but not huge suds and rinses clean. The conditioner then makes your hair feel like smooth silk as soon as you apply it.  Literally as soon as it's worked into hair.  It also rinses easily and clean  and doesn't weigh my hair down.

The leave in Moisture Cure is also quite good. A medium weight leave in, dual phase that needs shaken before use. In the picture it's been mixed. If you leave it sit a lotion looking liquid comes to the top. This is light enough to not overuse but adds enough moisture for dry areas.

I've been beating my hair up every weekend in the sun and pool and this has been fabulous for quickly whipping it back into shape.

Glycerin and Apricot Seed Oil are the main hydrators. It does says it's suitable for colored hair, but the shampoo does have sodium laureth sulfate in the ingredients.

Matrix Moisture Me Rich Shampoo and Conditioner are  $ 12  each at Ulta.
Matrix Total Results Moisture Cure is $ 16
