Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Flirt & Candeur / Glossimer in Petillant -Spring 2012

Two new Rouge Coco Shine's make their debut with the Spring collection. These are a perfect representation of the orange lip we saw at the fall shows for spring. What's best about these is that they are not too bright .  They are beautiful shades and easy to wear.

Flirt is  light to medium coral, that leans more peach I think. It brightens you up just enough . Candeur is called pastel pink by Chanel, but  it goes on more sheer, very light peach. So call it peachy pink. This one gives just a hint of color. Both are fabulous not just for Spring but right now if you want a little pop of color for winter. Plus  it's the Rouge Coco Shine formula which makes it very hydrating.

One of the new Glossimers this season is Petillant. It's sheer shimmery peach. Very much like Candeur lipstick but in a gloss form.


All of these are on counter now and will be permanent.

Chanel Rouge Coco Baume

I've been waiting  for this new lip balm from Chanel for literally months. I've mentioned many times how I adore a lux lip balm and  this new one from Chanel is out as part of the Spring 2012 collection. It's tres chic but also quite good.

Rouge Coco Baume shares the silky softeness of the Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks but is even silkier  and more moisturizing. It has no color, a little shine , very little scent and a lot of moisture.  I love it as I knew I would. I mean, Chanel and a lip balm? That's a total win.

It's called a hydrating and conditioning lip balm which means it treats lips, not just adding moisture and helps keep them in good condition.

NYX Butt "Naked" Eyes Palette

NYX cosmetics has a very lovely version of  a "Naked" palette.  Their Butt Naked includes 15 eyeshadows, all neutrals from beige to charcoal , 4 pretty blushes  in peaches and pinks, 2 illuminators  and 1 medium -deep bronzer.

If you've used NYX before you know the quality  is generally good. Much better than the price might indicate. I find the shadows here to be in the middle. The light shades are very sheer, but the deeper shades like the shimmery plum I love and have good pigment. It is after all meant for a more natural look and that's what it gives you. The blushes have nice pigment and  brighten you up, but not in a overdone way.

These are easy to wear and mix colors , and the palette itself measures 5 3/4" by 4  1/4" so it's not small but not too big either.

Chanel Blush Horizon De Chanel - Spring 2012

Like a beautiful sunset, that's what Chanel's new blush for the Spring 2012 collection looks like. It's fresh and vibrant and sunny. Did I mention  pretty ?

Called Blush Horizon De Chanel it mingles several shades of pink, peach and   gold . The swatch doesn't show up really well but the blush is  light but not sheer,  with good  pigment that gives  you a flushed glow. When you swirl over the colors to apply , it is mostly a pale pink with a hint of peach.  This will look good  on anyone and will defintely perk up the winter pallor many of us get.

MAC x Daphne Guinness Aurora & Nebula Pigments

The highlights of the MAC x Daphne Guinness collab, to me at least,   are the pigments.  I have two of the three, Aurora and Nebula. Circa Plum  is the third, MAC calls it a mid tone lavender.

Aurora is beige pink taupe frost that's very metallic. Nebula is a grey brown frost. More brown than grey but definitely a mix of both. These are both everyday wearable and look great togther.

The Daphne Guinnes line will on sale Dec. 26th.

Metal X Eyeshadow from MAC

Metal X shadow  is re-launching  from MAC launching Dec. 26th to January 19th.   I love the metallics and this shadow is said to transfrom from powder to liquid like metal on lids. Despite is being previously released in 2007 I don't recall ever trying them then. I am totally ready to now.

Yardley of London Special Edition Holiday Soaps

When you hear special edition you usually think higher priced. Not with these new soaps from Yardley of London called Sugar and Spice Collection.   They are priced at 1.49 each and I saw them in my local grocery for .99. That's a holiday deal.

Yardley dates back to 1770 making their moisturizing, good smelling soaps.  The two new scents are Holiday Spice and Vanilla Sugar . Holiday Spice is one of those that will work for the men too. You know, something besides Zest. It smells lovely and well, spicy. Vanilla Sugar is sweet but not strong.

The new soaps are LE and ingredients include cocoa butter. Vanilla Sugar has colloidal oatmeal and pure vanilla  and Holiday Spice has Cinnamon and Clove .

Dior Garden Clutch - Granville Garden

 Here's a closer look at the scrumptious Garden Clutch from Dior Spring 2012.

There are three eyehshadows , a medium brown, light pink, and pale mint green. All have shimmer. Two lip shades , one an Ultra Gloss and a Lip Maximizer are under the mirror.

The clutch has an embossed woven print and rosebuds on the clasp. It's  really pretty.  The size is 4 1/2 long and 2 3/4 wide.
