Now that we've seen all the looks go down the New York runways and began seeing what London has going, you can definitely parse some Spring trends for next year.

One is graphic, large florals. I'm not always a floral fan,  tropical florals, yes, ditsy , teeny florals, no.

Spring 2014 florals   I very much like.  Large scale, boldy colored, I can get behind some of these.  So while we are waiting for Fall to arrive, take a look at a breath of Spring .

Fall's Best Burgundy /Wine Lip Colors

Burgundy is the name of game, on lips at least, for Fall. From  matte to gloss to balm there is a wide  range  to paint your pout in this very  autumnal hue.

I've compiled a list of some of my favorites that I've tried thus far with links to my reviews where applicable.

Bite Cashmere Lip Creme in Bordeaux- The deepest of the deep , this is a fully pigmented matte lip that will makes heads turn. ( Review here for Sherry )

NARS 413 BLKR  - 413 BLKR is pretty much the color of Fall.

Laura Mercier  Rouge de Creme in Cafe- A medium rosy nude that's not dark but not pale either. Somewhere right in the good middle.

Cover Girl Smoochies in luv u - A light, sheer plummy tinted balm  to embrace the trend in an easily wearable way .

Smashbox Be Legendary in Cognac - More raisin than burgundy with it's hint of whiskey brown makes this great for those who love the russet shades.

Dior Addict Gloss in  Ensorcelante - The gloss version. Plenty of pigment but not too deep.

Dior  Addict Extreme Lipstick in Bonne Aventure -  Addict lipsticks are sheerer and have shine . This red tinged plum gives you more color than a balm , less than a full lipstick.

butter London  Lippy Tinted Balm in Black Cherry- get the rich color of the season along with loads of moisture that the cold temps demand. ( review here for shade Toasted Marshmallow).

MAC Casual Color- Spring 2014 - Sneak Peek

Another fashion week sneak peek , this time  from MAC.  Backstage so many new MAC items get their test runs and this season one that showed up a lot was a product called Casual Color.

Having not see it in person I can't say what it looks like but noting it's use on cheeks and lips leads me to think it might be a versatile stick type color for all over use .

MAC for Cushie et Ochs

Two other products I saw named were Huggable lip color ( used in shade Cherry Glaze at Monique Lhullier) and  Nightlight Sparkle eyeshadow used at Cushnie et Ochs for that stunning smoky eye. The work of maestro MUA Romero Jennings there.  That's all the info I have on those for now.

Casual Color surfaced at Diane Von Furstenberg and Zac Posen with Keep It Loose on cheeks at DVF, lips at Posen.  Shade Have a Lovely Day was used at Sally LaPointe and Cusnie et Ochs on lips.

Dior New Rouge Dior & Contour Lip Liner

Dior Rouge Dior is one one of my all time favorite lipsticks. If you asked me for my top pick, most likely this is what I'd answer .

Now there is a new set of colors along with some packaging tweaks in the Rouge Dior line along with coordinating Contour Lip Pencils.

What makes these such a lip treat ? They have great pigment , medium to full, are creamy & moisturizing with a satiny finish that has a slight sheen and a  little shimmer but not glossy and obviously not matte.  I said in my review when these first came out in 2010 , they hug your lips. They feel good as well as look good. Dior calls it " Voluptuous Care"  . I can get into that.

The new Rouge Dior's  feel to be pretty much the same formula  as  the old ones, but maybe a touch creamier. Dior lists them as having marine crista which " smoothes and reshapes the lips ".

The lipsticks also wear really well. It was hot and humid today and 2 layers of color with no liner lasted for well  over  3 hours.

Contour Lip Pencils are a  not too soft but not hard formula and come with a brush at one end and a separate sharpener.

Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick  is $ 34 and comes in 18 shades.
Dior Contour Lip Liner is $ 30 and comes in 8 shades.
