Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation

We love it when a drugstore brand performs as well as high end right? Rimmel  does it with their new Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation.

This new foundation is creamy and blends well. It is a thicker formula so you need to work it in Just a bit. It feels very comfortable  and light on skin,  not heavy or cakey.

Coverage is medium and for me it covered all that I needed with the exception of under eye area . I prefer good coverage leaning towards full and this worked well. It is  slightly buildable  and added layers don't look overdone. I use 2 layers to get the coverage I like.

The finish is satin . It's not overly dewy but not matte.  There is no shimmer, or glow but skin does look perfected and softened. It's lightly moisturizing ( with glycerin but no oils in the ingredients) and on my combo to slightly dry skin it's been great. I've worn it every day for a week without a lot of oil breakthrough on the T Zone except for a little on my nose. A midday powder touch up was all I needed.

The foundation lasted all day into evening and can I tell you how nice that is? I can melt off makeup far too easily so I'm always on the lookout for something that makes at least most of the day.  By the time I got home in the evening it was  still looking good most days.

The wand that comes with is a bit of a clunker. It's very big. I dab the foundation on with it but blend in with hands.

Rimmel Lasting Finish 25HR Breathable Foundation comes in 16 shades . Shown are Classic Ivory and Light Nude and is  approx.$ 7.99 at Amazon and drugstores, Target etc.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipcolor

Liquid matte lips are a strong trend  right now and are coming in all at price points, which is nice.  Rimmel has recently launched their Stay Matte Liquid Lipcolor .

Stay Matte has good , almost full pigment, applies easily and once set, stays put. This is a pretty dry matte but they have some flex and feel lightweight on lips.  The applicator is an elongated doe foot  and it works well to cover lips fully in one pass.

They do have a  plastic like scent , which may be an issue for some. Other than that they perform really well and as stated do last.  I went thru drinking and light eating with minimal wear.

There are 14 shades including some edgy ones like black and navy. I went for the nudes , shown are Rose & Shine , Be My Baby and Pink Blink

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipcolor is approx 4.99- 5.99 depending on store/ sale.

Rimmel Oh My Gloss Oil Tint

Lip oils have been popular for awhile and they’re still going strong thankfully. This time of year I can't get enough .

New from Rimmel is Oh My Gloss Oil Tint.   As the names says these are a gloss and have a good bit of shine  along with  a bright pop of sheer color. The gloss settles down fairly quick leaving more of a sheen than full on gloss and once they wear off you still have a stain left .  They are also an oil tint and packed with moisture for lips.

There are four precious oils in them per Rimmel, including argan and they do feel great on lips.  They are not greasy, heavy or tacky.  I love them and am using mine on bare lips and over more matte lipsticks  for a  boost since my lips are pretty dry right now. They work well both ways  and I am already thinking I might need more colors.

Scent wise they do have a strong fruity scent. I like it but keep that in mind if you're fragrance averse .

Shown are Modern Pink and Pop Poppy , two of six shades.

Rimmel Oh My Gloss Oil Tints are $ 5.99

Rimmel Magnif'Eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner

Put long wearing eyeshadow and a dual ended together and you can count me in. Great price point? Even better.

These new
Magnif'Eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner eyeshadow/kohl duos from Rimmel tick a lot of boxes.  They are long wear, even on me with my extreme eye makeup melt. They didn't last all day on me but hours longer than most shadows. Most of you should get longer wear than that. They have a good grip on lids. Rimmel says they are crease, transfer and waterproof, just in time for Summer.

These go on like silk, sliding right onto or across lids. They are very creamy, have good medium to deep pigment and apply easily. Nice for mornings and quick touch ups.  The kohl side is pointed for easier lining but works well on the lid too. They can be blended or smudged  as you want.

I have two color combos here Queens of The Bronze Age which has a dark brown bronze on one end that has light pearl and a very shimmery gold on  the other. Kissed By  Rose has dark brown light pearl liner with bronze-y rose gold that is medium shimmer.

Rimmel Magnif'Eyes Double Ended Shadow & Liner are $ 6.47 each and come in five shades.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

Rimmel's Lasting Finish foundation is one that will take you from the current heatwave to the crisp temps of Autumn.

This re-launched foundation has a new  dewy , long wear formula with medium to almost full coverage that easily blends into skin. It's sweat and humidity resistant and has SPF 20 physical and chemical protection.

With my oily skin this was a bit too dewy for me  right now. Once my skin normalizes in cooler temps it will definitely be in the rotation. I love the  long wear especially along with the good coverage. Skin looks smoothed and hydrated. It held up well all day even in the heat. If you have normal to drier skin you can use this now and later. With the SPF added in  it ticks a lot of foundation boxes in one bottle.

Once again a drugstore brand comes up strong , this gives you a lot for your dollars.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation is approx. retail $ 6.99

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara

Rimmel's new Lash Accelerator is not only  a lengthening mascara but also one that strengthens and is said to help them grow longer.

Rimmel's formula for it is called GROW-LASH complex . Some of the ingredients in the complex are  Biotin, Keratin, Arganine, Vitaman H and Bamboo extract.

In their study with 41 women, Rimmel says lashes grew up to 117% longer in one month of use. After one week they saw stronger lashes .

Now I have just begun using  Lash Accelerator, so I can't say that it's grown my lashes . However, it does  nice job of lengthening. There are some I've used that lengthen more, but many that don't. This falls in the middle. It  feels very soft on , is never hard and it doesn't smudge. If it gets wet, yes it will run ( it's not waterproof)  but in the course of the day I had no smudges and I've mentioned  my major smudge issues many times.

There are 2 shades - Extreme Black and Black. I have the Extreme  but I don't find it that deep. Not as much as some, which is fine by me. To me it's simply true black.

The wand is long and the brush is  a nice size. No huge brush to deal with, it gets all the lashes pretty easily.

Rimmel Lash Accelerator will be available in October and retail is $ 9.99 ( In the UK this has already been released. )

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

Rimmel has a new Stay Matte foundation out, and you know this oily skinned girl was going to try it.

Years ago I tried their Cool Matte foundation and it was not good. Yet another of theirs, Double Act, was great. I had hopes this would be good and it is.

It is a more natural finish, I prefer medium finish but I can work with this. Thankfully its not sheer at least. I never understand why so many acne helping foundations are sheer. If you have big pores and acne, hello- you need coverage. This has nice coverage but some concealer may be needed at times. The foundation blends nicely and needs a ninute or two to set. It lasts really well and does help keep some of the oilies at bay most of the day.

It contains salicylic acid, zinc oxide( so good for battling acne), cucumber extract and cotton powder all to help the skin stay clear. Rimmel calls the mix of salicyclic acid and botanicals SkinPure complex fpr clarifying the skin as well as coverage.
For a drugstore foundstion this performs very well. It comes in many shades and sells for around 6.99 .

I am getting tired of the Recessionista phrase( even if may be appropriate), but this line has always been good quality at some of the lowest prices, so it is very much Recessionista approved.

Rimmel online has also redone their Virtual Makeover Tool which looks like a lot of fun. A chance for you to try on some of their products right there.
