L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Color Riche Lip Color

L'Oreal rings in the New Year with a nice selection of products including new Extraordinaire Lip Color.

This new lipcolor might remind you at first look of Color Caresse Shine Stain. While there are similarities , they are  very different with Caresse being a bit drier and a stain .  Extraordinaire is a liquid lipcolor  with features of a gloss like high shine. It's got deep , full pigment especially in the darker shades  and has a lot of moisture ( there are several different oils in the ingredients).

Extraordinaire goes on smoothly and is not too thin.  One coat is enough for coverage with  plenty of shine . The feel  isn't overly tacky , there is a little but nothing like many glosses. It feels lightweight on lips  and with the moisture element, keeps them well hydrated. I felt like I had a glossy balm on. I also liked that it didn't seem to migrate at all , something that's been happening a lot lately.

The color lasted on me about 2 hours ( but don't use that as a  total guide, lip color fades on me quicker than many) but the moisture lasted  at least another hour after that .

I rather like liquid lipcolors, and if you do as well you'll probably like these.The gold tubes have a high end look to them and there is a see thru window to see the color choice.

Anastasia Dipbrow

Anastasia is  well known as the brow authority  and there's a new helper out to groom your arches.

I've found that I really like brow creams or pomades. I've only tried a couple but for me they seem to work. Dipbrow is a creamy product that glides onto brow hairs and blends in easily ,especially if you use a brush  like the also new # 12 Large Synthetic Duo .  With an angled brush for applying one end and a spoolie on the other, you've got what you need.

One thing to know with Dipbrow is that you only need a very small amount. I used too much at first and you probably will too. It's easy to do.  I wipe some off on my hand  if needed before using. A little here goes a long way.

Using a small brush you lightly brush on the color , then when you've got the look you want, run the spoolie through to thoroughly blend.  You can use this to fill in sparse areas only or do your whole brow.  The finish is matte  and it dries/sets pretty fast. Anastasia says it waterproof with several water resistant ingredients . I can't say if it is truly water resistant but I did get long wear.

My shade is Blonde which is the lightest of the shades but isn't super pale.

The other available shades are Chocolate, Auburn, Dark Brown and Ebony.

NARS Bimini Larger Than Life Lipgloss- Spring 2014

 NARS Bimini is a seriously pretty new lipgloss for Spring. How fresh it felt to put this on. No it's not some super unusual shade but it is lovely and  brings a bit of sun to lips.

Bimini is a sheer peach with a hint of shimmer. NARS calls it sheer pink guava but on me it's very much peach , not pink. Peach and coral are big favs  here and this not only looks good on it's own but makes a hot combo when paired with Lodhi Satin Lip Pencil.
