Revlon Brush and Hair Accessories

 While you're put shopping  tomorrow, the weekend, whenever. chances are you'll be looking for a  few quick stocking stuffer type picks . How about some new hair accessories ?

Revlon makes brushes, hair elastics and more at great prices .  And when can't most of us use a new hairbrush ? These new Soothing Sensations have thicker bristles with easy on the hair extra large ball tips. They glide through hair without snagging.

XL Elastics can be used as a headband to hold hair back or triple wind them around a pony or a bun. The smooth fabric/elastic doesn't pull on hair.  I've already given a set of these to a medical assistant friend.

Velvet Headbands  have velvet inside for a soft touch on hair and designs on the other side .They have stay in place no slip material as well.

Retails range from 6.99 for a brush to 3.99 for the elastics. Available at Target and other mass market stores.

Revlon One Step Paddle Hair Dryer & Styler

Revlon's newest hair tool from Helen of Troy looks really interesting.  

The One Step Hair Dryer and Styler is a paddle brush that also dries your hair. You brush and dry. That I can get into. No holding a dryer and a brush ? I haven't tried this yet, but I'd  like to.  Using a paddle brush usually means smoother hair so that's something that should be quicker to achieve using this. 

Revlon says that it dries hair in half the time and works against frizz. It uses ionic technology and has 3 heat settings. 

What do you think ? Is this something you'd pick up ?

Revlon New Debuts at Rag & Bone S/S 14

Gucci Westman did one hot orange lip for Revlon at Rag & Bone yesterday. And she hinted that it's a new lip shade coming this Spring. She called it Carnival, but I saw someone else say it was a new matte balm . Now I've  found that  it's a mix of new  Colorburst Matte Balm in Mischievous ,  due in January and Carnival Super Lustrous Lipstick.

 On Revlon's fashion week Pinterest board they show new color crayons, so these may be the new balms.  No matter which kind of lippie it is, it was a wow on the runway.

Revlon Colorstay Nail Enamel in Sheer Sunburst

 

Revlon's ready for Summer with a whole line of sun friendly shades created by Gucci Westman  and their new nail polish in Sheer Sunburst is a hot orange for pedi/ mani.

It's an orange like a Tequila Sunrise ( does anyone drink those anymore?) . It has a hint of rust to my eye and that mkes it a little different  from the bright oranges that are popular  right now.

It  goes on very sheer  as the name implies  and needs 3 coats for fullest coverage .


For Summer there are 4 new shades in all: Trade Winds, Seashell, Jungle, and Sheer Sunburst.

Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious Mascara

 With it's colorful,  fun 80s vibe tube, Revlon debuts new Lash Potion mascara.

Lash Potion by Grow Luscious is is said to help volumize and lengthen with the wand they call "Illusionist " along with proteins. It also contains lash conditioners .

I got a good bit of length but only a little volume. I  like the  brush,  it does a nice job of getting to the lashes and is a  good size but not a too large, jumbo size.   I had no clump issues even with several coats . I feel you need  at least 2 coats for best look but I'll say that about most mascaras. One coat is a your lashes but  better.

The formula is not too wet or dry, a little thick and at first  few uses needs dragging along the tube to remove excess.

Lash Potion by Grow Luscious is due out in May  and will be $ 7.99

 There are 2 regular colors- Blackest Black and Blackened Brown along with 2 waterproof shades in the same colors.

Emma Stone was out in Times Sq this afternoon to promote the kickoff. Note the billboard says  Lash Potion is now at Walgreens.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

Candy Apple, Sweet Tart

It's been  a long time since a Revlon item caught my eye and I've picked a good one to re-acquaint myself. I am also an admitted tinted lip balm a-holic. Add full pigment and make them long lasting as Revlon has with their new Colorburst Lip Butters and I love them even more . I have 3 and really want more. I don't need more, but that has nothing to do with it.

These new butters pack almost full lipstick like pigment . They have nice shine , last long, and use Mango, Shea and Coconut Butter for major moisture. They feel very creamy on the lips and have a good consistency. Again lipstick like, not sheer or filmy. There is no scent/taste .  Basically you can do a full lip look but still get the moisture we all need in winter. 

Creme Brulee

 

Colors range from light nude to true red, with 20 shades in all.  The cap matches the shade, but for the best match look at the top of the cap. You can see thru to the bullet and the color you see will be almost exactly the color on your lips.

Although they technically are launching  late December and previewing mid November ,  they are on sale almost everywhere now, including my small town. Revlon said if you can't find them yet, hang in , as they will be near you soon.

Revlon & Gucci Westman for Rag and Bone Fall 2011

 

Gucci Westman  not only Revlon's global artistic director,  but also wife of Rag and Bone's David Neville, as usual did the makeup for their  recent show.  The look was called " Urban Eskimo" and featured ruddy cheeks and skin that looked a little sun or wind burnt.

All products used were by Revlon.

Cheeks were done with Cream Blush in Berry Flirtations.  The inner rim of eyes had Revlon's Luxurious Color Eyeliner in Black Velvet, blended with Illuminance Cream Shadow in Wild Orchid  along with  Matte Eyeshadow in Rich Sable  across lids and underneath the lower lash line.

 Lips were barely there with just a bit of color from a  multi -use palette called Bordeaux in the Snow ,that was pressed into models' mouths

Nails were a steel colored grey called appropriately Steel Her Heart and done by Jin Soon Choi.
