Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette - Updated- Swatches

Having now seen the new Hourglass palette in person I love it even more.  I swatched as best I could the three shades. You can see that the first two have some color and the third, the new Incandescent Light is mostly colorless. ( The swatches are out of order.)

This is my first try of Radiant Light, but it's one I thought I'd like. This imparts a warm glow to skin while Dim Light adds a hint of color that seems to perfect skin. It's like a much lighter version of a bronzer. Incandescent brightens  .

I love the idea of a powder palette and it something we don't see often.I can only think of one other brand that has one.  If you are a powder fan or want a gift for the makeup lover but are unsure what lip or eye shades she loves, then this might be just right.

*  Above updated 10/15

You know how I love my Hourglass Ambient Light Powder  . Now for holiday we can feast our eyes and skin on an LE Ambient  triple threat, yes a palette with 3 shades - two existing and one new.

Ambient Lighting Palette includes Dim Light and Radiant Light along with new LE shade Incandescent Light . The palette also includes a  5 ml trial size of  Mineral Veil Primer.

The Incandescent Light is a  " pearlescent powder that highlights the cheekbones and brightens the complexion with a celestial glow."

I should have a in person look at it soon and will update.

Hourglass Ambient Light Palette is $ 58 and available now at Sephora, Barneys, Space NK  and more.

L'Occitane Immortelle Divine Lotion

L'Occitane's new skincare line utilizes the Immortelle Flower.  Rather than try the face creams I went for the Divine Lotion which is a European toner . It's not toner like I think of for oily skin but a thin liquid that is gently wiped on the face after cleansing and before other skincare.

As I said it's very light and you use it with a cotton ball. This was my first pass at a product like this. I use astringent on a regular basis  but that's not what this is.
Divine Lotion has  a lovely light floral and herbal scent and gives face a moisture boost and refresh.

I use the Divine Lotion at night  and like the light feel . In the warm temps sometimes this was all the moisture I needed. Other times I added cream over it. It would be nice as well during the day if you go  makeup free for a freshen up. Even though it's a light lotion. this really helps to smooth skin and give it a boost.  L'Occitane  says it aids in exfoliation.

The Immortelle line consists of a  face cream, extract ( serum) and an  eye cream along with the lotion,  all using Immortelle flowers along with 7 plant-derived active ingredients.

I rather love the  the gold and yellow packaging which  lends it a bit og French and Provencal bit of elegance . This looks good on the vanity.

L'Occitane Divine Lotion is $ 54 for 6.7 oz bottle at  L'Occitane

NARS Rage Cinematic Eyeshadow- Holiday 2013

I talked the new Cinematic Lipstick  from NARS holiday now let's look at one of the new eCinematic Eyeshadows.

Rage is a vivid electric purple . On the eyes it is a  bit less intense looking than in the compact. It's more sheer on ( but not a sheer shadow, it has plenty of pigment) than just looking at the cake would make you think.

It's very pretty and especially complements those of us with green eyes.It really brings out the green, as most purples will.

The formula is soft ,and blends easily but  there is a quite of bit of  fallout when you run your brush across the cake and  on the eyelid. This isn't something I've experienced much with NARS shadows thus far.  I am thinking too, that it will  be a shadow that might be even better when used wet.

NARS Holiday Color Collection launches Oct. 15

Cinematic Eyeshadows come in five new shades and are $ 24.

NARS Last Tango Lipstick - Holiday 2013 - Guy Bourdin

NARS holiday, inspired by the photography of Guy Bourdin is  all about serious color. In the mix of brights there are some slightly more muted shades.  Last Tango lipstick is one of them and my pick from the lippies.

Cinematic Lipsticks are a new formula that is, frankly, awesome. They have loads of pigment, lots of moisture , sheen ( but no shimmer) and feel great on lips.

I don't have the ingredient list but I imagine there are a good number of hydrators in there. These are very creamy but are not sticky or have too much slip .

Last Tango is a nude pink. NARS calls it Dusty Pink. I think the bullet shows more brown , when it's on lips it's a slight bit more pink. Either way it's a lovely neutral shade and just right for Fall and Winter as well as balancing a bolder eye.

If you love the formula and want brighter there are more shades in hot pink, cherry and more. I plan on checking on Short Circuit a "fiery coral" when the line hits stores.

NARS Cinematic Lipsticks  are $ 26 and the Holiday Color Collection will be available Oct. 15.
