MAC Mineralize Rich Lipstick- Style Surge, Grande Dame , Dreaminess

From top- Style Surge, Grande Dame, Dreaminess

I like, but am not yet sure I love, the new Mineralize Rich  lipsticks from MAC.

These new , long awaited lipsticks pack  a lot of pigment  and are full/opaque coverage . I do feel that it seems harder to get the coverage though,  although I can't lay my finger on exactly why. Not enough slip maybe ?  But I  have to sometimes do a 2nd go over to get the coverage I want. It's not lack of, but more the way they apply. I've talked about lippies before that "hug" the lips, and Mineralize doesn't quite do that.

All that said, they are still pretty lovely .The finish on them is mainly satin but there are a few with light shimmer like Grande Dame. The creamy formula  feels light on lips and they are hydrating with plenty of moisturizing ingredients  but not as much as, say,  Sheen Supremes . (Sheen Supreme of course, is a very different type of lippie ).  They wear fairly well with an  hour to two of color then drying down to a stain like look.

They have the look and feel of retro lipstick  but updated for modern times.

The coral shade, Style Surge is a favorite here. It's not too orange, more  deep peach and great for summer. The pale pink Dreaminess is  nice if you love the cool  pinks and Grande Dame is a perfect rose that really looks great on. It's a shade that should work on almost everyone.

There is new packaging here as well with a magnetic click close between top and bottom of the tube. The bullet is larger as well.

Mineralize Rich Lipsticks are $22 and available now at MAC .

MAC Extended Play Gigablack Lash Mascara

I love the original MAC Extended Play mascara. For one it lasts and lasts. No budging or smudging all day.  Plus it gives me a lot of length. More length than many mascaras I use.

New is Extended Play Gigablack. This  is said to be much the same as the original except for deeper pigment .  You won't get a lot of volume with this formula. That's ok with me as I prefer length more, although both is best. But you get super definition and separation that will stay put all day and night.

I don't notice a huge difference in pigment shades here. Gigablack seems to be as deep as the original which was a rich black, but not darker. The tube colors are also the same leading me to think this is just a permanent version of the original.

The brush here is narrow, which enables getting all the lashes easily and without mess. It grips them well and the formula isn't too wet or dry.

Extended Play Gigablack is part of the permanent collection and is $16

Nexxus Hydra Light Shampoo & Conditioner

Nexxus introduced some great new haircare recently with Hydra Light and Youth Renewal.   I've mentioned before how well loved Nexxus is here . Emergencee is a staple and  The Mom swears by Diametress almost to the exclusion of all other shampoos,  although she is liking  new Hydra Light a lot too.

Hydra Light is just what the name implies, a nice dose of moisture without being a heavy shampoo. It's not max hydrating but just right. If you have straw like dry hair it might not be for you. But normal to dry, it should work well. The conditioner is the same. Good conditioning , good moisture that leaves hair feeling soft  .

Hair has nice volume and fullness after using and isn't weighed down . A not so basic, basic.

The shampoo and conditioner both have coconut oil and sea salt in them  but the shampoo is not sulfate free.

While I tried the shampoo and conditioner, there is also a Root Lift Mist and Leave In Conditioning Foam. Both of which I would be interested in trying too.  Leave In in a foam ? Sounds good.

You can find Nexxus at most  drugstores and Target and can hit up www.nexxus.com for more info.

Guerlain Jambes de Gazelle - Terracotta 2013

Guerlain Terracotta for summer is like many summer collections, one I look forward to. It's all about the bronze and Guerlain tackles not just your face but your body. They want all of us to have that South of France glow without the trip to the Riviera.

New Jambes de Gazelle is here to add a one day bronze look to legs, arms and decolette. It's a liquid spray that goes on with a cooling mist . It's  dark out of the bottle  but once you blend it in, it  becomes just a hint of color. Enough to look like you have a bit of a warm tan, but not like  an Amazon .

This is a transfer resistant spray that dries right away . You use it for the day and/ or  night and then shower off.  The subtle  fragrance of Tiare flower gives Jambes de Gazelle an even more tropical feel and the elegant glass bottle will give a chic summer look to the vanity .

Guerlain Jambes de Gazelle is $59  and will be at Saks , Bergdorfs. Neiman and Nordstrom and select Sephora.
