White Musk White Hot Summer from The Body Shop

One of The Body Shop's newest scents is a summer reworking of White Musk- White Musk White Hot Summer .

First off the bottle screams the hot summer part. Graduated shades of hot pink and yellow look like a heatwave.

The scent is fun too. Obviously heavy on the musk but the addition of flower notes and bergamot is a good one. It's not too strong but not super subtle either and the White Musk has never been an in your face kind of musk. It's always been softer. This is a fun , easy summer scent to add into your rotation.

Top notes: pink pepper, bergamot and violet leaf
Middle notes: rose, carnation, heliotrope and orris
Base notes: sandalwood, musk and vanilla

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick

Maybelline has given us a fabulous new lipstick with their new Color Sensational.

I finally got my hands ( or lips) on some last week and it has been in constant rotation since. These new lippies have great pigment, are really creamy, and last well. They can easily compete with the higher end ones out there. The case is pretty nice too. Red plastic on the outside, with a silver metal tube.

My favorite is Caramel Kiss, a medium nude/bronze( first from left) Peachy Scene( middle) is also becoming a fav. It's a medium bright peachy coral. Lipstick at right is Broadway Bronze.

The color selection here is huge and broken down into four color categories (plum, natural, pink, and red). There 48 lipsticks, 12 lip glosses, and lip liners. There is definitely a color for everyone here I would think.

Here's what the company says about the new technology put into these lip products:

"Due to a new, innovative color dispersion system, the color seen on a Color Sensational lipstick bullet is what will transfer on the lips. "Color Sensational's pigments are dispersed in a patented polymer and emollient blend. This blend saturates the pigment and allows the color to bloom," Creating a lipstick that feels soft on the lips was found to be the second most important lipstick trait. Color Sensational formulas address this concern by adding honey nectar. "

Color Sensational is out now at all mass market outlets, but not up yet to view on Maybelline's website.

Crabtree & Evelyn Distillations Purifying Shower Gel

Back in late fall I posted about the new Aromatherapy Distillations line from Crabtree & Evelyn. I was using the Purifying/Refreshing body lotion with eucalyptus and lime oils. I loved it then and still do. I find it especially nice with the warmer weather coming in.

Now I have added in the matching body wash. The scent in both lotion and wash is pretty strong with loads of mint and citrus. It really gives you a lift and just breathing in the scent relaxes. The lotion has a cooling effect too. So that makes them perfect for day or night use.

This whole line uses all 100 % pure essential oils and the body wash has pore-cleansing (sea salts, seaweed) ingredients.

There are also no parabens, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, colorants, propylene glycol, sodium lauryl or laureth, sulfates.
