January Jones at Met Gala

Ok, I wasn't going to post anymore Met Gala pics, then I heard how amazing Mad Men star January Jones looked and finally found a photo. It was hard to find one ,but here it is. Whatever mag said she looked not only fantastic but so different( I think it was W) had it right.

She seems to be a chameleon. Every time I see a picture of her she looks a little different and she seems to love to switch up hairstyles. She works this look well.

The dress is Michael Kors and the hair Mark Townsend for Matrix.

He was going for 60's Bardot look and here's what he did/used:

"First Mark added Biolage Whipped Volumizing Mousse to her damp hair and then blowdried it with a round brush. Next he took two inch sections of hair, spraying each section with Vavoom Gold-Heat Iron In Volume, and curled the section with a one inch FHI Heat curling iron. After he curled all the hair, Mark brushed out the curls with a Mason Pearson brush and then gave her some height at the crown by backcombing the roots. “I gave her hair a good amount of Vavoom Shaping Hairspray so it would hold all night.”

Quick mention- I gave a bottle of the Vavoom Gold Heat Iron In Volume to a friend , and she's mad for it. She kept telling me she needed something good for flat ironing, and she was just going the drugstore route. When you are frying, I mean, flat ironing , your hair, you need great product. Especially when like her, you have bleached blonde tresses. Spend the extra .

Modelinia.com's Met Ball After Party

By now you've probably seen all or most of the Met Gala photos. So how about one from one of the after partys ?

Several top models along with Modelinia.com got together to host a bash at 1OAK to benefit OrphanAid Africa, a non-profit, non-governmental organization aimed to support orphans and vulnerable children in Ghana.

The ladies looked fab, naturally. Arlenis Sosa, Brooklyn Decker and Hilary Rhoda are pictured, and I am in love with Arlenis' boots.

Arlenis makeup was done by Lancome and her dress was Alberta Ferretti, and I think one of the better of the evening's looks.

Lancôme makeup artist Tarek Abbas was the mastermind behind Arlenis polished makeup. First, Tarek lined Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Ebony on the upper lash line and followed with Le Stylo Waterproof in Noir, smudging it on the lower lashes. (Since this formula is waterproof, it’s ideal for the lower lash line!) For a pop of shimmer, Tarek added Color Design Eyeshadow in Kitten Heel to the eyelid. Lancôme Ôscillation Water-Resistant Mascara in Black created a faux-lash effect. For a high-shine pout, he lined the lips with Le Lipstique in Amandelle and topped it with La Laque Fever in Neutral Current( **This is one of my very fav lippies** )

I assume Hilary's makeup was by Estee Lauder.

Chanel N.5 Movie Debuts

Chanel debuts the new Chanel N.5 film starring Audrey Tautou today. Called Train de Nuit , and directed by Amelie's Jean-Pierre Jeunet , it's every bit as gorgeous as you expect a Chanel film to be. Audrey is truly one of the most stunning women.

To celebrate the new film and the fragrance New York has also declared May 5 as "Chanel N˚5 Day." Very cool, or I should say ,chic. It's both. Saks will be doing 17 special windows outside as well as Fifth Ave . being named Ave. N.5 for the day. (I have a shot of the street signs, since many of us can't be there in person, moi included).

In another nice touch Chanel & Saks are partnering to create a new arts program at P.S. 5, the Ellen Lurie Elementary School. The donation will provide funding for the arts program, specifically four separate after-school arts classes—graphic arts, photography, chess and drama—as well supplies and field trips to a local museum or cultural institution for each class. Children will benefit from the after school program, which they will be able to attend for an hour and a half four times a week.

I'm a huge fan/supporter of the arts, so I loved reading this.
