Aloe Vera 80 Gel

After spending much of the weekend in the sun out at the pool, my skin is ready for some extra care. No sunburn, (I slather on my Ambre Solaire and Neutrogena continously), but I am getting some tan. Years ago, like many people, I discovered how good aloe vera gel is for sun parched skin. What you really need to know is that not all aloe gels/creams are created equal. Much of the drugstore commercial brands really don't have that much aloe in them.

I like to get natural products when I can and when I wanted aloe vera gel a couple years back, I hit the natural foods store. I picked up Aloe Vera 80 gel by Naturade. This is bare bones aloe, has a so- so smell but works incredibly well. It has 10% polysaccharides and what they call Active Aloe, and a short ingredient list.

I use this on arms, legs and even my face. What I love is that I can use this on my face and it never breaks me out, even on the nose and T zone where I never usually put any moisture. It is greaseless and not really sticky at all. Basically an all purpose moisturizer. Every time I pull it out, I wonder why I am not using this more often.

Aloe is of course great for the skin, holds in moisture , heals etc.

I had a hard time locating this brand on the internet, but I found some resources. There are, I am sure, other organic brands that have high active aloe content out there. Just read the label well.

Aloe Vera 80 can be found at amazon. com, and http://www.mothernature.com/, a great resource for all things natural. The price seems to be in the $ 7.00 range for a good size bottle.
