Tarte Colored Clay CC Eye Primer

When you have oily skin, you know that clay absorbs it, so when I saw Tarte had a new clay based eye primer,  I needed to try it on my very oily eyelids.

Tarte's Colored Clay CC Eye Primer  is  a fairly thick formula in a crayon . It's got a well pigmented neutral tint that acts as a concealer on lids. It neutralizes, discoloration and primes the eyelid for shadow .  I like the ease of the crayon and that there's no wands or sticking fingers in pots. One swipe across lids is all you need and it isn't dry feeling.

I've had  good success with this keeping my eye makeup on longer than usual. The clay as I hoped, does  a good job at holding back the oil. Keep in mind, as I've mentioned  a lot here , my eye makeup melt.  It's major and short of sealing eye color, nothing holds all day  on me.

However, using a long wear cream shadow with powder over it on top of the Tarte CC Primer  held my eye makeup on  longer than almost any other base I've used. About 5-6 hours .  If you have don't have big melt issues , and pretty much everyone has to be better than me, you should do super well with this. Tarte says it will work up to 12 hours.

You can also use this under the eyes to cancel circles/shadows before concealer.

Tarte's Colored  Clay CC Eye Primer is $21  and available now.
