Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sun
Last year Dolce & Gabbana gave us Light Blue Italian Zest , this year we get Sun.
The new Sun EDT is a citrus, musky vanilla with a sun warmed skin vibe. It's light but not into skinscent territory and yes, feels very Summer-y. It starts with lemon and there is a green apple note listed but I get just a bit of that and it's gone. Coconut water is listed as note but I get very little of that also, it's not really coconut scented at all to my nose but a more green and creamy tropical feel. The ozonic accord is there , it's refreshing and not overly aquatic but more beachy salt water. Frangipani brings in the middle with the citrus still there and then quickly amber, vanilla and white musk come in. Those drydown notes along with lemon are the full drydown and what the scent stays at .
It is different from last year's Italian Zest which was more full on lemon and limoncello smelling. I have both on my arm right now and Sun is about vanilla and musks . Someone in Insta asked me if it was suntan lotion like, and the answer is no. As I said earlier, it's more musky , sun warmed skin on the beach. A snuggle up and in on Summer nights scent ,too.
Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Sun is available now and is $ 102 for 3.3 oz EDT and $ 80 for 1.6 oz EDT

Dolce Peony Perfume
I have to say the new Dolce Peony purple bottle variation has totally got me. It just says SPRING and is such a beautiful color. It's funny how just something as simple as a color change can make such a difference. The Dolce bottle was always cute but generally I don't do much that's cutesy frou frou. Here we have an exception.
The scent is a pretty, light floral that is very different from last year's Dolce Garden. It begins with lots of citrus in the form of bergamot and nashi pear. Rose , peony and freesia are the prominent florals to my nose with the peony definitely being the top flower here. Honey adds warmth and some sweetness while plum, amber and patchouli bring the drydown. It's a fruitchouli type of scent but not too sweet .
Sillage is medium as is lasting time. It wears pretty well through the bulk of the day. I'm quite liking it and have been wearing it all week. And did I mention how cute the bottle is ? Ready to jump into your Easter basket.
Dolce Peony is $ 76 for 1 oz, $ 94 for 1.6 oz and $ 120 for 2.5 oz

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Italian Zest
Have an Italian Summer Fling with Dolce & Gabbana's new Light Blue Italian Zest.
This zippy fragrance reminds of limoncello. It's light ( an EDT) musky and of course very citrus. It's all lemon at the beginning with some barely there jasmine and bluebell working in . As it begins to drydown amber, cedar and musk give a little hint of sun warmed skin .
This isn't a sweet scent, the citrus is tart , the florals pale and even though there is a companion men's version, this can easily be unisex. It wears close to the skin , and doesn't last super long , which is expected. EDTs and citrus are both hard to keep going for hours on end but it lasted several hours on me.
It's been ages since I smelled the original, but from what I've read this is very similar but with lots of lemon, if you're wondering.
Light Blue Italian Zest is a nice Summer scent that will stand up to warm weather and make you think of fun in the sun .
Dolce &Gabbana Light Blue Italian Zest is 3.3 oz for $ 100 and 1.6 oz for $73 at Macys.

Dolce Garden by Dolce & Gabbana EDP
There's a new Dolce in town. Dolce Garden comes in the familiar and oh so pretty flower petal topped bottle , this time in peachey pink.
Dolce Garden is mostly a gourmand touched with woods. A sharp burst of mandarin is first and then there is lots of coconut dashed with magnolia and neroli. Almond milk , vanilla and sandalwood are all prominent into the drydown. Frangipani is listed as a main inspiration here but I only get the smallest whiff of it.
The florals take a backseat to the other notes. It's very creamy, somewhat sweet and reminds a bit of an amaretto cake.
Dolce Garden is strong at first, but settles into medium sillage after the drydown. Still noticeable , you'll not want to go heavy on the spritzes with this, but less so than at the beginning.
Dolce Garden is currently excl. to Macys and is $ 29 for .25 oz rollerball, $ 118 for 2.5 oz, $ 76 for 1oz and $ 94 for 1.6 oz EDP

Dolce and Gabbana The One EDT
Dolce and Gabbana's The One is a perennially popular fragrance . Now there is a new EDT version .
The One EDT is light as you would expect from an EDT but still has some oomph and substance while using many of the notes from the EDP. It begins with fruits and citrus, the bergamot and lychee most noticeable to my nose. Then the florals come in, ylang and madonna lily ( the key note of the composition) making for a pretty mix. Broom adds it's sweet honey like note which is interesting and I liked it. As it dries down it's very amber, with a little vanilla , vetiver and musk rounding things out.
This is a bit of a sexy scent. Not bold , heady sexy, but soft, you smell good when I get close , sexy. It's feminine and wears easily with medium sillage.
Dolce and Gabbana The One EDT is $ 60 for 1 oz, & 78 for 1.6 oz and $ 100 for for 3.3 oz and is available this month at department stores and at www.dolceandgabbana.com

Dolce and Gabbana Miss Sicily Lipstick
When I posted these on Insta I called them an almost perfect lipstick . Dolce and Gabbana's new Miss Sicily ticks all the lipstick boxes for me.
The new formula with Color and Care as part of it's full name, feels great on lips with loads of moisture that feels balm like , shine and slip that glides on. The color is semi- sheer to medium and on lips it adds more color than my swatches show.
What's great here is that is also wears long. That's very unusual for a formula like this. I have wear issues with satin or semi matte formulas that have more "grip" so I was happily surprised that not only did the moisture , balmy feeling last but so did the color for several hours without needing a touch up. I would tuck the lippie in my pocket on the way to the bathroom mirror after a couple hours but nope didn't need it .
All three shades I have are very wearable nude/pinks .There are also deeper shades available. If you struggle with dark wine lips in a matte formula this is the way to go.
Shown are Anna - a light pink coral, Angelica - a medium bronze nude and Antonia - a golden nude.
Dolce and Gabbana Miss Sicily Lipstick is $ 36

Dolce And Gabbana Tropical Spring- Passion Duo Gloss Fusion Lipsticks
For Spring Dolce and Gabbana goes to the Tropics.
Tropical Spring is packed with pink and coral and there are two new Passion Duo/ Gloss Fusion Lipsticks.
Tropical Pink is a truly blue based pink as it has a bluish lavender core . While it's light it is far from barely there .
Tropical Coral is a rich , bold reddish coral. The core is bronzey but that doesn't affect the color on the lips too much. The coral overrides any other color .
Both of these are beautiful shades in a creamy, moisturzing satin formula that happens when the center gloss and outer matte shades blend on your lips ( which you can see somewhat in below pic as I didn't wipe off the core before photographing).
You can check out the coordinating Tropical Coral Eyeshadow Duo on my Instagram here.
Dolce And Gabbana Passion Duo Gloss Fusion Lipsticks are $ 38

Dolce and Gabbana Velvet Wood from the Velvet Collection
New from Dolce and Gabbana is the Velvet collection, a beautifully presented line of six new scents inspired by the " concept of traditional luxury".
So far I've had the chance to try Velvet Wood. Velvet Wood ( inspired by ebony wood) is composed of soft sexy woods, benzoin and a nice hint of leather. My nose detects some patchouli, but that's not technically listed.
It's not simply masculine but a man could definitely wear it and it has masculine touches. It's deep , has presence and is subty sexy scent and very of the season, the Valentines season, that is.
Despite the strong sounding notes, Velvet Wood wears rather softly. The sillage is medium and it's not an overly strong fragrance .
These come , naturally, in a beautiful satin lined velvet box. Quite the presentation.
The full scent list is :
-Sublime
-Love
-Desire
-Vetiver
-Wood
-Patchouli
Each is $ 195 for 1.6 oz at www.saks.com
