MAC Air Of Style Returns

 MAC is releasing once again their fragrance Air Of Style. You might remember this from 2007 and 2010. Both times the scent came in distinct LE packaging.  In the new iteration it's a rollerball or spray bottle. 

This is a big, pretty floral fragrance , loaded with flowers and woods. I get a lot of jasmine , tuberose, tonka and amber . Here is how MAC describes it :

"Contemporary top notes of red dates and wild peonies set the tone. A bouquet of absolute tuberose, orange blossom and jasmine at the heart gets the pulse racing and feels unabashedly bold with the opulence of yang yang and orris. The appeal is magnified by a background of leather blended with rare woods and vetiver – all juxtaposed with creamy hints of tonka beans and golden drops of amber crystals."

Air Of Style starts off very loud , those florals make themselves known.  As it dries down , the other notes come in and it is less intense but still has good sillage. It's not a quick to fade fragrance. 

MAC Air Of Style  is $ 49.50 for 50 ml, $ 30 for 20ml and $ 22 for a 6 ml rollerball ( shown).

Dove Dry Oil Body Wash & Beauty Bar

Dove has a permanent place in my shower. All Winter I've used their Winter Care  and before that it was Summer Care.  I love the seasonal additions and Winter Care has done a great job of helping keep my skin a little less dry.Some days I don't feel the need for lotion.

Now Dove is upping their moisture game even more with Dry Oil.

Infused with Argan Oil the new body wash and beauty bar have little droplets of oil you can see in them . It's thick and creamy  , rinses clean, leaves behind some moisture and has a light warm and ambery fragrance.

Narciso Eau De Parfum Poudree

Narciso Rodriguez aims to capture femininity in a bottle with his new Eau De Parfum Poudree.

Most fragrances from the designer lean to the softer side excepting my personal favorite L'Absolu For Her . New Poudree is soft but also sexy. The powder is all musk and is complemented by florals of  white jasmine and bulgarian rose that further add to the softness.

As it dries down light woods come in, vetiver and cedar . These are not strong at all , but simply ground the scent. The full drydown gives you a wrapped in cashmere musky powder tinged with flowers and vetiver. I find this ladylike with slight edge.

Narciso Poudree has good sillage and good staying power. It may be a lighter fragrance overall but it's not a fade away quick one  and is not a skinscent.

The bottle mimics ones in the past like the recent EDT but comes in a blush tinged color. It's a simple but strong design.

MAC Modern Twist Kajal Eyeliner

MAC's new Modern Twist Kajal eyeliners are a new self sharpening , long wear formula.

These glide on easily with little drag or pull. You can get a nice line quickly but with my darkest shade here, Groundbreaker I need two passes to get the deepest color payoff ( shown is one coat) . The lighter shade, Nothing On is a one swipe liner.

They have a nice feel, silky and soft but not greasy . They can be used for the waterline as well , which I haven't tried. For the eyelid, love them. I like a liner that goes on easily without muss or fuss. I also love the wide range of thirteen (permanent) colors including three versions of black.

These do wear fairly long as well. I had no smudges through the day and very few liners last that well on me. There was some fading after 4-5 hours though.
