Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pure
L'Eau d'Issey Pure is a new gem from designer Issey Miyake. It's a new variation on 1992's L'Eau d'Issey .
This fragrance features a new scent molecule called Maritma , created by IFF, that is aquatic and water like and first off that's what you get alongside Ambergris, all salty, sea wind whipped mineral earth. In fact I get more ambergris than aquatic, which to my nose is a good thing. It's one of my favorite notes and this isn't one of those simply clean fresh scents, it has a bit more.
The Ambergris leads into the woods and florals. There's a bouquet of white florals here- lily of the valley, lightly and as it nears the mid point the rose ( rose damascena) is there , soft but prominent along with a creamy orange blossom and jasmine. By this time the ambergris is almost hiding in the background but you get the occasional whiff of it. As it dries down you get some of the woods but it remains very floral. Cashmeran is one of the notes and it adds depth along with the amber but this is not a heavy woodsy scent. It does get to a more clean feeling at the drydown while I would prefer more ambergris, but it's still quite pretty.
This is an easy to wear fragrance especially if you like aquatic florals. It has a more sillage than many "clean" fragrances, and a bit more lasting power. It's not strong but not barely there .
Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Pure is $88 for 1.6 oz & $108 for 3.0 oz at Macys and Sephora .

Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey- Summer 2016
Summer in a bottle is one way to describe Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey . An annual release this year's bottle features sunny graphics by artist Michelle McKinney.
2016's version is similar to last year's , immediately zesty and refreshing, smelling like sun and laundry dried in the clean air. The grapefruit and lychee notes hit right off and are not sweet but more tart. Pitahaya, guava and passion fruit are the mid notes hut again this never veers super sweet. It's fragrance that will stand up to heat well with just a little light woods ( I get cedar mostly) at the drydown to ground it.
As it is a light scent and an EDT you won't get loads of lasting power here but it's also light enough to be re-sprayed and topped up midday or evening without overpowering you or those nearby .
Issey Miyake L'Eau d'Issey Summer EDT is $ 78 for 3.3 oz at Macys and Sephora

Issey Miyake L'Eau D'Issey Summer 2015 EDT
Want a fragrance that just says Summer ? Each year Issey Miyake does a Summer EDT and this year's is a burst of citrus and floral that has the season down.
The fragrance starts off very citrus, always a good thing in my book , with notes of pink grapefruit and lychee. Passion fruit and guava add more warm weather goodness . This never becomes a super sweet fruity scent though. It's bright and a bit sharp but the florals and woods of the drydown keep it grounded. It ends with a hint of vanilla and light woods with the citrus still hanging in there .
It wears close to the skin with light sillage and that's something you might expect from a Summer season scent. It can be used almost ( but not quite ) like a body spray.
I haven't tried a Miyake Summer scent in some time so I can't say how it compares to past ones, but I do know they often share similarities . This one is going right into my perfume rotation.
Love the graphics on the bottle ? The design is by artist Yulia Brodskaya.
L'Eau D'Issey Summer Edition ( LE) is $ 76 for 3.3 EDT.
