Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunscreen

I've had a few Twitter convos about favorite sunscreens and I always mention Neutrogena's Pure & Free Baby.

Why ?  It's light ,  as light as their Ultra Sheer I think. It has high physical SPF . I  use and like many chemical blockers, but prefer physical when I can. It's an SPF that should work for most,  if it's good enough for baby skin  and last,  it's easily available. Sometime people ask about all natural sunscreens and I can rec those as well, but I still mention this one. Not everyone lives near a Whole Foods, or organic store. I don't but I have a drugstore, several of them.

Pure & Free Baby comes in a body formula as well as one for faces that says it is "tear free".

Looking to stock up this weekend ?   Walgreens and CVS has all Neutrogena Buy 1 Get One 50 % through  Saturday the 5th.

Also through July 31st, Neutrogena is once again  donating an SPF product to a family in need for everyone purchased. You can read more about that here

Happy July 4th to all those in the US. Hope everyone has a wonderful  holiday weekend.

I don't like chemical sunscreens either. I always go with Zinc Oxide sunscreens for my face and body.

Have you tried Coppertone's Water Babies?

It has 14.5% Zinc Oxide and 7.5% Octinozate (which is chemical, but it makes the Zinc Oxide work even better on top of your skin, not in it).

I walk the dog everyday and I smear this stuff on my face, neck, poitrine, arms and hands. I usually walk the dog in the early afternoon, I know I should do the dog walk earlier in the day or in the evening, but it just doesn't work out that way. Water Babies is waterproof for 80 minutes and I sweat when I walk the dog for about an hour. This product has kept my face winter pale and my chest is a little darker but not as heavily freckled as I usually get in the summer when I wear lower tops.

I don't mind the white tint that it leaves when I first put it on (the white goes away after about 15 minutes after applying it anyway), because I know that it is there. And I am not trying to impress anyone anyway. My dog thinks that I am fine, "Keep Walking!"

I keep track of the mineral sunscreens because I wear them all year long and I am always looking for better and cheaper. Thanks for the post and review.

Hi Chatchien,
I haven't tried the Coppertone one , but it sounds good. I like that it's a mix of sunscreens and it sounds like it's working really well for you. I'll have to check it out next Target trip.

Thanks for sharing. And good on you for walking the dog in the heat. It's been rough out there.

I have another physical sunscreen post coming later this week, so stay tuned.
