NARS Audacious Lipstick, created to celebrate the brands 20th anniversary , completely lives up to it's name and ushers in that benchmark with boldness.
Audacious is deeply pigmented and in at least in the deeper shades I have, is very much a your lips lead the way look. And I mean that in the best way. This is no shrinking violet lip color.
The lipstick itself lightly creamy, not super hydrating but not dry. They leave a smooth satin finish with full one coat coverage that wears really well. The only issue I had was some slip where the middle area of the lip didn't get fully covered. I have a feeling this might be something that only the deeper shades do. I nudged it a little with a lip brush and that was that . ***Update- I now have the gorgeous rose nude shade Barbara as well and there are no coverage issues.
Marlene is a brick red and Geraldine a deep orange .
I am looking forward to trying more of the shades and this line has a huge variety, 40 in all ( some exclusive to Barneys). The bullets have NARS engraved into them and the case is a heavy black with magnetic cap closure.
NARS Audacious Lipsticks are permanent , retail for $32 and are available on Aug. 15th.
