New Shine Compulsion Color Sensational from Maybelline is the brand's first oil in lipstick.

These creamy, shiny lovelies  look and feel high end with a hydrating , full coverage formula .I have two of the ten shades - Pink Fetish & Undressed Pink ( the lighter of the two).

Shine Compulsion is old school lipstick in the sense of coverage and lots of look, but modern with the slick sheen and  moisture. Look at the shine in my swatch picture, it's practically reflective. They come in an on trend rose gold case.

These feel great on, balm like , lightweight and non sticky.  And while they are a Summer release ,will be so nice when the temps drop and the wind begins to blow.  They also wear pretty well. I half a day before needing a touch up and that's with  drinking.

Maybelline Super Stay Multi Use Foundation Stick

Stick foundations are having a moment it seems and I like it. I've always loved using them but for many years  they got hard to find.

With Maybelline's Summer launches come new Super Stay Multi Use Foundation Stick Stick  and this one ups the ante with a blending sponge attached to other end of the tube.

This formula here is  matte and it does feel pretty dry  on but blends easily  and has medium to almost full buildable coverage. If you're oily it will work well on it's own, anyone else will need some moisture prep underneath.

Even though this is quite matte I got a lot of oil breakthrough on my T Zone. This isn't unusual for me though and I even use a matte primer.  But what was intresting is that I didn't feel like the formula stayed matte all day.  It does have beeswax and camdellia wax, so that may be it.

Wear time was very good for the most part.  By the end of the work day it was still holding up well with just that T Zone touch up needed midday

In general I've had great success with Maybelline foundations.  I love Matte + Poreless and there was a Super Stay Silky years ago that was a staple for me in cold weather.

Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon Trio Set @ Ulta

When I was in Ulta last night I spotted this very cute set of Baby Lips Balm from Maybelline. The Mom had my phone so I couldn't snap a pic but they are online as well.

The set includes three shades of Baby Lips Color Balm tucked in a flip top box.  I reviewed these previously  here . They are moisturizing with a lot of pigment. Great easy Summer color but also good going into Fall when the weather begins to cool. This is my kind of back to school supply.

Maybelline Masterprecise Ink Liquid Metallic Liner

Sometimes a product totally surprises you and this new eyeliner from Maybelline has done it .

I melt most eye makeup really easily.   I mention this a lot. And I have only a few eyeliners that I can use that actually stay on my eyes for the day's duration. Many  don't make it even a few hours.

When the  Masterprecise Ink Liquid Metallic Liners landed on my desk, I thought "these are nice,  but I won't be able to use them". But I'm here to test things so I gave them a shot ( upper lid only).  They lasted all day into evening on hot , sunny days, and on unprimed eyelids the first time I tried them .

The liners are metallic but not huge sparklers.  It's not heavy glitter but definitely some shimmer. Then again I love metallic  so I am biased here. You might feel differently.

The pointed tip glides  color on easily and they can be blended or touched up before they set. They do need a good shake before using .  Some of the shades like Violet Nova and Stellar Sand seem to have lighter pigment than you'd expect and than I'd like but the darker Black Comet and Galactic metal have good color payoff.

There are seven shades in all and they are listed as waterproof , smudgeproof.

Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer

 Liquid lipsticks are having a moment and these new Vivid Hot Lacquers from Maybelline hit all the marks.

These richly pigmented lipcolors have high end look and feel,  give a saturated lip look , have a lot of slip when applying and a slight gloss finish once they set . They have more  gloss in the initial application, then it dries down some. They are very comfortable on lips , not tacky or sticky nor dry as they set. They keep a somewhat creamy feeling.

These also wear long and leave a stain behind. After testing one of the red shades, after a shower , sleep and washing my face in the AM there was still a hint of it left.  Like I said, they have plenty of pigment. That bodes well though for daytime wear, with them lasting on me about 4 hours .

The applicator is an angled doe foot with a little well  that makes  getting them on lips evenly , easy.

Maybelline Dream Brightening Creamy Concealer

 

Among the New Year launches from Maybelline is a top notch concealer.

New Brightening Creamy Concealer comes in a stick formula that glides on easily,is creamy and blends well . It's not super creamy however, it doesn't feel heavy on or have a lot of slip. This makes it nice for  all skin types including oily. I know I don't like a greasy concealer on already shiny skin.

It has natural look  but offers medium to full coverage and it sets fast once on. Under eyes the extra brightening ( the company says ingredients include light reflecting pearls) is always a plus but it can be used anywhere.

 At the price point, this is a great find. I passed one on to my 70 yr old Aunt at Christmas and she loves it as much as I do.

Maybelline Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon

Like my friend The Muse ( Musings of a Muse) I still love lip crayons. Not sick of them yet and these new ones from Maybelline are a good addition to the stash.

Baby Lips Color Balm Crayons are the latest in the very popular Baby Lips line. These new crayons have slight shine  , moisture and unlike the original Baby Lips, a lot of pigment. As in COLOR. No sheerness here.

They are oil based and have what I'd say is medium moisture  .They apply creamy  and easily with the domed tip and feel good on . They are a slightly thicker formula.

I have four shades here - Toasted Taupe, Creamy Coral, Blush Burst and Refreshing Red. I have to say I was really surprised when I put Refreshing Red on , with how bold it was. Definitely not the color payoff of a typical balm.

While these are set to officially launch in January , some places will have them now.

We're getting a look at what's new next year from Maybelline.  There's a lot of new that includes more Baby Lips ( in a crayon) , lip and eye palettes and this new face color quad.

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Powder

Maybelline's newest pressed powder for us oily gals comes with acne treatment salicylic acid built in.

Superstay Better Skin - Skin Transforming Powder is a matte powder that also has light/medium coverage. It's not heavy but not sheer and not only mattes without looking too dry but also fills in and hides pores and perfects, smoothes skin. The  extra coverage is nice too, when the oil on your nose has broken down your foundation from it's AM application.

As for the salicylic acid, it's far down in the ingredients and I'm not sure how much gets through to skin but I'll take a little extra help to keep oil at bay and pores clearer.

I really like how this looks and works.  It holds up nicely although usually not all day. I recall Maybelline's Super Stay foundations being really long wear. Harder to get that in a powder, but the coverage here lasts longer than many powders, easily half a day on me  and depending on what foundation I've used, longer.

 I use this both over my foundation right off the morning to smooth and add a bit more coverage or over my foundation midday and/or evening . If I use first thing it definitely extends foundations wear/look.  It will work on bare skin or over a BB/ CC nicely too, giving just enough coverage .

Maybelline Brow Precise Micro Pencil

 Maybelline seems to always be one of the only brands that make eyebrow pencils that work for me. Oddly almost all that I try make my brows super dark even if it's a blonder shade and I have light auburn brows.  It's weird . Years ago their Master Shape pencil in Auburn was a perfect match and now with new Brow Precise  Micro Pencil we get great color with easy to use super skinny point.

This reminds me of a far more expensive brand's skinny tip. Now you can grab the look for less. Brow Precise has a self sharpening tiny, skinny pencil. It's great for getting into brows and almost drawing hair into them. It adds plenty of pigment but can be done very subtle or gone over for  a bolder look.

I have here Auburn and Blonde, it also comes in Soft Brown and Deep Brown.

Maybelline Debuts New Launches at Marissa Webb NYFW

 
Fashion week is here again and one of the things that means is sneak peeks at what cosmetic companies have in store for later this year and  next .

The eye look at Marissa Webb's show was gorgeous, I loved it so much I recreated it this weekend .

Makeup artist Yadim used several new products here including The Rock Nudes palette, out in January along with Eye Color Studio Tattoo 24 Hr Metal in Barely Branded and The Falsies Push Up Drama mascara both hitting stores in October ( although stores are showing the mascara now).  The pop of purple eyeliner is Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel in Eggplant.

The foundation used is their Fit Me Matte & Poreless which is so good and has become an almost everyday one for me. Another January launch,  Master Studio Face Contour was also used.  Lips are Color Sensational in Barely Bloomed .

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte +Poreless Foundation

The Fit Me!  line from Maybelline gets a Matte +Poreless addition. The original line is a good one and for those of us with oily skin, Matte +Poreless is even better.

The foundation comes in the same  type bottle as the original and the shade numbers match as well. Shown is my shade- 115.

Basically I love this. It's very matte but not too dry feeling, nor is it super flat looking.  Coverage is light to medium, more medium and buildable. It blends well and leaves  a little time before setting to get that blending in. The liquid is thin but not too runny and does not settle into lines etc.  and fills in pores nicely.

You'll need concealer for any large acne areas or  very dark areas , but healing spots or light areas of discoloration this covers pretty well.

Fit Me! Matte +Poreless  is  almost the equal of many higher end foundations. One   thing I see in comparison is that this does oxidize slightly. I love when a great makeup choice is available at an easy on the wallet price point. If you need a solid matte  foundation choice , this is a worthwhile purchase.

There is also a coordinating pressed powder. I haven't tried that yet, but I love the original Fit Me! pressed powder  and more matte is good by me.
