Lancome Juicy Tubes Are Back

Did you know that Juicy Tubes made a welcome comeback this Summer? I've only just gotten around to getting some and I hadn't realized how much I had missed them.

Like many of us, they were a staple of mine back in the early 2000s. One year my bestie gave me the 7 Days of Juicy Tubes gift for Christmas. I loved it , with one fruit flavor for every day.  I think the blueberry and lemon were my favs.  

Now they're back and while wearing lipcolor has gotten harder I'm rocking mine when I walk the dog.  There are new shades as well as some old favorites and the formula remains the same. There's still loads of moisture, non tacky shine and varying levels of tint.  Hello Cherry is bright jelly with a good pop of sheer color, Fig Hit  is creamy muted nude, Marshmallow Electro is a shimmering sheer pink while Pure is simply clear.  There are 20  colors in all along with cute gift sets for holiday. With cool temps here these are  balm like but with more oomph. Just what we need.

Elizabeth Arden Sheer Kiss Lip Oil

Have you  explored Elizabeth Arden lately?  They've got you covered for easy, pretty Summer makeup with their new Sheer Kiss Lip Oils and Cooling Cheek Gel.  Let's take a look at the lip oils, a hot category right now.

Sheer Kiss Lip Oils are lightweight but very moisturizing sheer tints of color. The moisture lasts literally for hours with shea and mango seed butters along with oils and they don't feel tacky or sticky on lips.

The color is less lasting , not unexpected with a balm / oil type of product. They have a shine on lips , not quite a gloss but glossy-ish  and no shimmer. It's a pretty wash of color that can also be layered with lipstick or over a pencil.

For Summer, it's swipe and go kind of thing. Easy but looks  great.

I love the packaging here too, the round lucite like container with the color in the middle ( which is soft and squeezable). It makes for a little difficulty applying though. The tip is angled for your lip but it's still easier to use a finger or brush.

Keep in mind that when the cold temps roll around again these will still be  great to use. All that moisture  is just what you need when wind chills start whipping.

Rimmel Oh My Gloss Oil Tint

 

 Lip oils have been popular for awhile and they’re still going strong thankfully. This time of year I can't get enough . 

 New from Rimmel is Oh My Gloss Oil Tint.   As the names says these are a gloss and have a good bit of shine  along with  a bright pop of sheer color. The gloss settles down fairly quick leaving more of a sheen than full on gloss and once they wear off you still have a stain left .  They are also an oil tint and packed with moisture for lips.

There are four precious oils in them per Rimmel, including argan and they do feel great on lips.  They are not greasy, heavy or tacky.  I love them and am using mine on bare lips and over more matte lipsticks  for a  boost since my lips are pretty dry right now. They work well both ways  and I am already thinking I might need more colors.  

Scent wise they do have a strong fruity scent. I like it but keep that in mind if you're fragrance averse .

MAC It's A Strike & Kingpin Cremesheen Glass

MAC It's a Strike is their collection to kick off Fall.

Two of the new Cremesheen lipglass are Kingpin and It's a Strike.  Kingpin is a very deep chocolate brown with no shimmer. It will work well for the fall '90s throwback and semi goth look that is trending but on me was definitely not flattering. On darker skintones it should be really nice.

It's A Strike is a pretty medium pink mauve that looks lighter on the lips then it does in the tube. This is a flattering easy to wear  light pop of color shade. It will go well with all the tweeds, greys and beiges that tend to be Autumn's palette. 

Also new is matte eyeshadow in Gutter Gal , a pale putty grey matte ( it leans more grey than the pic shows).  This one is a basic neutral that is also a great complement to It's a Strike gloss.

Cargo 20th Anniversary Lip Gloss Quad

Cargo is 20 ? It sure is and I well remember how much we all loved those big quad gloss sets from way back along with the big blush pans.  To celebrate the anniversary Cargo is releasing the lipgloss quad again . 

Through the end of the year it will be available at  CargoCosmetics.com, Ulta.com, select Kohl's Departments Stores and Kohls.com/Beauty for $ 20.

Lancome Juicy Shakers

Boom Meringue, Freedom Of Peach, Show Me The Honey

Remember when Lancome's Juicy Tubes came out in 2000? They were a huge hit and we all wanted some. My bestie bought me that Christmas a Seven Days Of The Week set and I loved it, especially the blueberry and lemon ones.

Sixteen (gulp) years later we have new Juicy Shakers. These new cuties are a little different than the tubes but still have the fun factor.

Juicy Shakers come in a martini shaker inspired container and are part oils including apricot, rose de muscat, cranberry and almond , part pigments. You "shake" them to mix and there's a little ball in there to get them mixed.

The color payoff is sheer , with the one shade I have Freedom Of Peach having just a little more color than the other two. They give a nice wash of color along with a good shot of moisture. They feel very good on lips, not heavy and have a shine to them, not a gloss but more than balm.

For the upcoming Summer and  Spring now they're kind of perfect.

You'll see in the one image the applicator, which is a little sponge that picks up color as you shake. I find that I do need two shakes and applications to get the amount of color I want. The sponge doesn't hold tons of color but each time is just enough for each lip and they do build some.

Each of the 20 shades has a candy fruit scent and each is slightly different. It's strong but they smell good, just something to know depending on how you feel about fragrance.

NARS Christopher Kane Nebulous & Nucleus Lip Gloss

NARS /Christopher Kane is one beauty of a collection.  I've only got my hands on two products to test but it all looks quite gorgeous.

Two of the new lipgloss shades are Nebulous and Nucleus. They gives lip a pop of color , have long wear for a gloss and  wear down to a light stain.

Nebulous goes  right into my stockpile of corals for Spring/Summer. Love this shade. It's a  sheer  coral , not super bright but not barely there either. It's just right.  Go by the tube color here as for some reason the swatch of this looks far more pink than it is.

Nucleus is a light wash of baby pink with no shimmer. It's a creamy shade that will look great against a bold eye and on days when you want just a light  natural look.

MAC Toying Around Lipstick & Live It Up Lipglass- Playland

MAC's Spring color collection Playland is all about fun, punchy bright colors.

Two lip shades have caught my eye ,  especially the orange one as once weather warms up I am all about those colors.

Live It Up Lipglass is what I'm calling Creamsicle. It's bright but not that bold. is more peach than orange and looks more toned down on the lips than the picture  makes you think. Love this one.

Toying Around is an amplified formula lipstick . It's called Hot Coral Pink, and I think of it as hibiscus , a shade we're seeing a lot for Spring and one that will go right into Summer. It's got high pigment saturation and will look good on  pale or bronzed skin .

MAC Playland will be online tomorrow and in stores April 17th. It is an LE collection through May 29th.

Shiseido Lacquer Gloss

First there was Lacquer Rouge , a Shiseido lip product I quite like , and now there's new Lacquer Gloss.

Designed by one of my favorite makeup artists and Shiseido Artistic Director Dick Page, Lacquer Gloss is a high lustre gloss with nice pigment and moisture. The shine here is less than  vinyl looking gloss and I actually like that. It's shiny but muted at the same time. Kind of just right.

I have two lighter, more neutral shades, but I am happy with the color payoff. It's light but not sheer and there is a slight shimmer to them.

BR301 Mocha, BE102 Debut

Lacquer Gloss is also nicely moisturizing  but feel lights and not too tacky  on lips with glycerin and orange oil among the ingredients. That moisture lasts and the color does as well. While  not long wear , these still wore better than most glosses. Over lip liner I got 3 hours.

Dior Lip Jelly- Summer 2013

Dior is the first luxe brand to do the jumbo lip pencil trend and since Dior always does everything so very well,  I think these will be good.  Right now I have images  of the three new shades .

Copacabana

Dior says they have a jelly like formula , are richly saturated  and will be hydrating like a balm with gloss shine and strong pigment. They are also a twist up pencil. 

They will be available as part of Birds Of Paradise Summer collection out shortly.
