Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet

To me it's Matte Season, at least when it comes to foundation. Chanel knows this as they've just released Perfection Lumiere Velvet foundation , in time for warm temps when the oil in our skins starts to get going .

Perfection Lumiere Velvet is a true matte, more so to me than their previous matte, Mat Lumiere, which is lovely but a bit too dewy of a finish for me. I like my matte truly matte. In the  years  since Mat Lumiere launched my skin is less oily in winter so I've come to appreciate slightly dewy  , but once the weather gets warmer, that's above 65  degrees for me, I'm back to matte.

Perfection Lumiere Velvet gives a perfectly smooth, powder like finish to your skin.  It's not a flat look though , nor is it heavy.  The foundation is a thin liquid that feels super light and barely there on skin.  It also sets fast, so you need to blend it quickly. Shake the bottle and use fingers for best application.

The coverage here is lighter than I expected and a bit lighter than I usually like with medium , but almost light to medium coverage.  That said, Chanel knows foundation and this is a good one that's also buildable. It wore well all day with very little oil breakthrough and very little  to no oxidation. That smooth look lasts.

The SPF is 15 with both chemical & physical blockers.  Shades shown are 20 Beige and 10 Beige.

Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet is $ 45 and available now.
