Terracotta Touch Loose Powder To Go is part of this year's Terracotta collection and this  finely milled bronzing powder is the bomb. 

I am iffy with bronzers even though I love that glowing tanned look and this has been perfection on. It's lightweight, matte but does have a sheen. It's not full on shimmer so it doesn't settle into or accentuate lines. I have Medium and the shade isn't very dark so you don't look muddy or super tan.  More a golden beige that definitely adds some color on my pale self, enough for that aforementioned glowing look but not enough to look fake, too deep or overdone . I look brightened , boosted. Tan works for me , tanning obvs not so much. This is the next best thing.  According to the brand it has " A unique combination of corrective mattifying beads and radiance-revealing flakes ". 

The container has  a sponge atop the powder jar to apply with after you shake the powder into it, and you can dab and blend with that but a brush also works well and is what I mainly use .

Guerlain Flora Cherrysia Aqua Allegoria

Just in time for Summer spritzing comes new Aqua Allegoria fragrances from Guerlain. 

If you're not familiar AAs are usually light and can applied with more abandon than something heavier as well as re-upped later in the day or evening as they last around 3-5 hours.  This makes them very nice for the warm days and nights of Summer.

Flora Cherrysia is one of the new Aqua Allegorias.  It's  breezy and pretty with cherry Blossom , bergamot and watermelon leading things off alongside  soft, sweet violet and a not too sweet pear .This never veers into fruity territory but is more floral before the musk filled drydown . 

Musk with barely there violet and equally light rose is where the scent then stays. It's a shame as the beginning is really nice and I was digging the watermelon and violet. Who knew that mix would smell so nice? 

That said, it's still a nice seasonal choice that won't overpower and will work well in the heat.

Guerlain Terracotta Contour & Glow Palette

Guerlain's Summer launches are ones I look forward to . Their Terracotta line is always stunning  and this year is no exception.

The Terracotta Contour and Glow Palette has three, well actually, four colors to get your Summer look on lock.

There is a deeper contouring shade , a medium bronzing tan shade ( both matte) and a blush/highlighter duo in a coral pink and pearl ( both iridescent) .

All are finely milled , lightweight feeling and offer light bronzing.  When you dust your brush across these and onto skin you won't get a dark brown streak  , but a wash of color that can be built up. They have warmth to them especially the middle bronzer shade.

The blush /highlighter is sheer and the coral shade just makes it as blush on my pale skin . Anyone darker would probably use it as a highlighter shade as well. It's beautiful though and gives a sunny boost of color.


I need to talk the packaging here too, the case is vintage metal chic looking with an art deco inspired sunburst design . Very treat yourself worthy .

I'm having trouble sourcing availability for this , Nordstrom and Bergdorf's has the other Terracotta launches but not this, it listed on Guerlain International page so best to look there to see if  it's near you.

Guerlain Mon Guerlain Eau De Parfum Florale

Spring has sprung and this starts to turn our nose to the pretty florals of the season.

Guerlain's Mon Guerlain Florale fits the bill perfectly.  Softer than it's predecessor Mon Guerlain,  this is light and floaty with jasmine , dewy peony and lavender with vanilla and patchouli giving a bit of sweetness , warmth and a slight gourmand feeling. The notes all play well with each other making this an easy , every day  fragrance.

The original Mon Guerlain , if you haven't tried it, is a bit richer with a deeper, drier lavender note,  less light florals and more vanilla. Quite pretty as well but more gourmand and sweet where Florale is airy and flowery. I will say , I like Florale better, but that's my personal taste as I can be so so with gourmands.

Of course it comes in that beautiful , iconic Guerlain Baccarat inspired bottle . It's a great pick for an Easter basket extra or for Mother's Day gifting.

Guerlain Meteorites Compact Spring 2019

Do you love Meteorites ? Not the ones in the sky, although those are pretty awesome too, but the multi colored powders from Guerlain.

They've got a new compact for Spring called Meteorites Compact - Colour Correcting , Blotting and Lighting Powder.

It comes in 3 depth of shades , I've got the lightest  in color combo 2 Clair /Light . There are  4 separate shades to be swirled together  or used alone . As one they offer brightening ( they  work great when your foundation looks a bit darker than you'd like, acting as a slight lightener) , setting, finishing , perfecting and blotting. While the green will also cancel redness.

The 2 other shade combos look good too. I wouldn't mind a wardrobe of Meteorites. One for brightening, finishing, one for blush , one for bronzing.

If you're familiar with Guerlain you know the features, if you're not, these are finely milled powders. They don't sit on skin but blend right in with no heaviness. They do add instant brightness and perfecting. Subtle but definitely there . There's a reason these are a perennial favorite , they're beautiful to look at and work well.

This season's compact on the outside is all silver with an engraved looking swirl motif and the Guerlain name.  Pretty elegant to whip out of your bag for a midday touch up.

For Fall Guerlain has not one but six new eyeshadow quads . These quads cover all your eye color needs from gold to grey to blue  and are named after some of their famous fragrances.

Guerlain Météorites Voyage & Meteorites Base- Spring 2015

Meteorites was the fist Guerlain product I ever encountered. Before even I began a love affair with their fragrances.  The multi hued powder in an elegant compact easily caught my attention a few years, ok decades , ago.

New this Spring is  Météorites Voyage. Guerlain calls them  Compacted Pearls of Powder . That sums it up. You get the mosaic of five colors that help to brighten, reduce redness and perfect skin in a beaded top compact that would have been at home on Nora Charles dressing table.

Guerlain  says Météorites " signature Stardust technology transforms the invisible UV light into visible and soft focus perfecting light to fade imperfections and illuminate the face. "

This is a  very light powder, meaning it goes on barely there. It finishes up your look nicely and adds some polish and brightening but subtly. It's not heavy on  and never looks "done".

Also new is a first time Meteorites Primer Base. This time the pearls are suspended in a gel primer. Like the powder this is subtle. It's a lightweight gel that smoothes right on and into skin. It has a small amount of moisture( glycerin is the second ingredient ) but is not a moistuirzier. While Guerlain says it's mattifying and oil absorbing I'm not sure on that. It didn't make me dewy  but I didn't feel it mattified a lot either.  It feels nice on and makes an easy base while also boosting your glow a tiny bit.

Guerlain Rose Aux Joues Smile Blush- Spring 2016

If you're looking to perk up a Winter pallor, or if you just want a burst of beautiful cheek color, look no further than Guerlain's new for Spring Rose Aux Joues blush duo.  It even says Smile on it and you can't help but do that when you see these sunny colors.

Guerlain has it's elegant , luxe packing on the outside in metallic red and then you get  a blush duo of  coral and light peachy pink.  It's basically an instant wake up.

These shades are beautiful and easy to wear for most I think. They can be blended together or used separately. Either way you'll have a glow. The pigment is medium, it  goes on pretty fully colored with one pass of the brush and blends easily.

Guerlain Summer Rouge Automatique Yellow It Stick & Blue Ocean Summer Shadow

Guerlain Summer this year strays a little off their usual path. Colors are a bit edgy and bright at times  for them but still the luxe makeup we know and love.

One  of the two new Rouge Automatiques ( a fab lipstick formula if you haven't tried it ) is Yellow It Stick.  I was pretty sure I could rock a yellow lip if needed but had a feeling it wouldn't be that bold and I was right. Don't fear the yellow  here , the color goes on a semi sheer shimmery gold. It's quite pretty. On it's own it's own it's a sparkle of color that will also punch up a lipgloss or tone down a deeper shade. And with a tan, yes it will look extra good.

Also new is Blue Ocean Summer Eyeshadow , one of two new shades. The other a sand beige.   Blue Ocean is a watercolor wash of  liquid eyecolor . Again less bold than in the tube but a fun, pretty shade  with light to medium pigment that dries super fast to a powder feel waterproof finish.

Guerlain Amber Silver Eye Pencil ( Le Stylo) Fall 2013

If you've followed Guerlain's fall launch , Violette de Madame, you've seen  a lot of notice go to the new eye duos ( which are really lovely) and the blush palette.  A sleeper in the line is this new eye pencil , one of five new shades, called Amber Silver. 

Amber Silver is a little different , at least from the multitude of eyeliners I own. It's not just silver but a taupe , deep beige tinged silver.  That's a combo that comes out very pretty .  Think metallic mushroom.

This shade brightens eyes and since Guerlain's eye pencil formula is so soft and silky it can easily be blended in to use all over the eye if wanted. The pigment is rich and one line gets the job done.  It also wears well and is  water resistant .

Guerlain Gloss d'Enfer Maxi Shine Lipgloss

A gloss that hugs your lips and feels good on is a special thing. We all know not all glosses fit that bill, even many that we love.

Guerlain's new Gloss d'Enfer  Maxi Shine fits the bill and how. They feel comfy, smooth, not tacky, and just look rather smashing.

I tend to love gloss the most in summer. Anyone else? There's something about the sun hitting the shimmer ...  With the high wattage shimmer in Gloss d'Enfer along with a nice selection of 20 new shades, you can shine on all you want. 

The pigments in these  run from sheer to deep. The gold , Gold Tchlack, is sheer but looks nice for a bit of shimmery  color on it's own, and really perks up a satin or matte  lipstick in a deeper shade. The pink, Cherry Swing ,  is a medium pigment I'd say. It  has plenty of color but not full and is a pop of pink on the lips.

This is luxe gloss at it's best.

 There is also a new Le Vernis nail line with 10 new shades at $ 23 each. You can see the hint of one  in the one shot, called L'Heure Bleue. Lovely that the nails are all named after Guerlain fragrances.

Gloss d'Enfer and the coordinating Le Vernis are a great treat for yourself , but with Mother's Day not too far off, a set of one of each will make one tres chic gift for mom.

Guerlain Jambes de Gazelle - Terracotta 2013

 

Guerlain Terracotta for summer is like many summer collections, one I look forward to. It's all about the bronze and Guerlain tackles not just your face but your body. They want all of us to have that South of France glow without the trip to the Riviera.

New Jambes de Gazelle is here to add a one day bronze look to legs, arms and decolette. It's a liquid spray that goes on with a cooling mist . It's  dark out of the bottle  but once you blend it in, it  becomes just a hint of color. Enough to look like you have a bit of a warm tan, but not like  an Amazon .

This is a transfer resistant spray that dries right away . You use it for the day and/ or  night and then shower off.  The subtle  fragrance of Tiare flower gives Jambes de Gazelle an even more tropical feel and the elegant glass bottle will give a chic summer look to the vanity .

Guerlain Holiday 2012- Liu

Here are the images of Guerlain Holiday 2012 . It's an Asian theme referencing the Puccini opera Turandot  and the female lead, Liu. 

Liu also happens to be the name of one of Guerlain's historic fragrances, from 1929.  The fragrance appears here in it's original bottle  as Shimmer Fragrance Spray. Liu is an aldehydic floral with notes of  rose, vanilla, iris and woods.  This bottle with the powder is a  must have in my book. I have last year's Vol de Nuit and love it.
