Cover Girl Flourish by Last Blast Mascara

Cover Girl wants your lashes to Flourish. That's the name of their newest Lash Blast Mascara.

Flourish uses coconut ,avocado and papaya oils to condition and soften lashes.

The formula is nicely lengthening , defines each lash well and adds light volume too, so you get a little of everything .   My lashes felt very soft with this, no stiff or crunchiness and it can  built up, even after a coat has dried without getting clumpy.

This lasts well for a non waterproof version on me, but I've always better luck with CGs than most.  I melt mascara  easily along with most eye makeup  but this held up well I am happy to say , even through a nap and some eye watering.

The wand is big but not huge . Smaller than some of the previous Blasts , which to me , is good. I don't like a giant wand , they seem to get mascara on more than my lashes.

I love the teal colored vessel too. It's not the biggest deal, but it does have eye appeal.

Cover Girl Flourish by Lash Blast Mascara comes in  four shades  and retail is $7.

Mireness Secret Weapon Supreme Mascara

I struggle with mascara wear time. Anyone who's even a semi regualr reader has most likely read about my makeup melt. While I haven't tried every mascara out there I have tried a good many and I have only 3 that I can rely on to stay put most of the day  and in the heat , for all day wear that drops to 1.

So when I saw Mirenesse touting 24 hr wear for the Secret Weapon Supreme Mascara.  I wanted to try it . The brand is new to me and is out of Australia.

And yes it does last. All day. All night.  No smudges, no wear off under eyes. Nothing. From 8AM to 10PM it  stayed on and looked good. By the end of the  night it wore off a little bit ( as in my lashes weren't as defined , no wear off on the eye are itself) but there wasn't a huge difference from the morning.

The formula is a tube type and I've used them before . I liked them but didn't love them. This seems different and I am liking far better. It's pretty easy to get off eyes . Warm water gets most of it, but a little remover like micellar or cold cream works well too. I like that I didn't end up with tubes on my eye area. It just washes away.

The mascara is pretty wet but not prone to clumping and the brush is a nice size to the into the corners. It's very good at lengthening and adds some volume . It's not the boldest lash look but not skimpy either.  For a long wear formula , it gives a nice lash boosting .

Mirenesse is as I mentioned , from Australia.  Their website is here. In the US the products are available on Amazon

Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Vert Portofino & Horizon Stylo Yeux Eyeliner

Green is the color to make eyes pop with Chanel's Summer collection.

It's been awhile since I used a green mascara but I am glad I tried  new Vert Portofino because it looks great on me and really helped accent my green eyes even more. The color isn't super  bold green, it's just noticeable and I think that makes it very wearable .

You can pair it up with new Horizon Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner. This new liner is a gorg shade of deep blackened green.  Chanel's formula is a long wearing , making this a good pick for the warm weather to come.

Both are LE.

Chanel Inimitable Mascara in Vert Portofino is $ 32
Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner in Horizon is $ 33

Cargo Cosmetics Swimmable Waterproof Mascara Top Coat

One of the hardest things with my makeup , is how fast it melts, smudges or wears off on me. With mascara I never get the lash look I really want because there are  only  truly a few  mascaras that actually stay on my eyes all day. Even most waterproof versions run or smudge within a few hours.

So when this new  waterproofing top coat came from Cargo , I was game to try it. I had at least 2 new giant lash mascara formulas I hadn't been able to wear that were perfect for testing.

It worked.  I will admit I was surprised. I can smudge anything you put near my eyes.  At about 3 PM I did have a small amount of run, barely anything but it was a little. I quick tissue wipe took care of that and the rest of the night it was fine.  It also didn't run down when in the shower but lightly wore off and I still needed some eye makeup remover to get all my mascara off.

This top coat is a clear, lightweight and sort of gel like .  Once you apply regular mascara, wait until it's almost dry, then apply the  top coat and let set for a few seconds. I went over my lashes twice with the top coat, I wasn't taking any chances on raccoon eyes.

It doesn't seem to affect  mascara much.  Lashes don't feel drier or tacky nor does it add weight or pull at them. It did make a couple lashes stick together a bit but I did use two coats and that could be why.

You can also touch up with this midday if needed.

Cargo has made a name with their  Swimmables waterproof , wear in the pool, beach etc products and this is a great addition to the line.

Cargo Cosmetics Swimmables Waterproof Mascara Top Coat is $ 22 and is available this Spring at Kohls, CargoCosmetics.com  and Ulta.

Cover Girl X Star Wars

Have you seen the Cover Girl X Star Wars collection yet?  If you are a fan and I sure am, something from this is a must have.  How fun is it to have a Star Wars phrase on your mascara? Anything for a laugh or boost in the morning , right ?

The collection includes nail polish, mascara and lipsticks.

The Colorlicious lipsticks are fun colors and despite some being a little more daring than what you might normally wear, they are  wearable.  My favorite is the rich gold shade. I love gold lippies so this is right up my alley. The deeper colors are variants on rich bold berries and the silver shade actually looks pinkish frost on lips and less silver. There are six shades total in the collection.

With the mascara you have a choice of phrases as well as regular or waterproof in  the very ,very good Super Sizer . There are 10 different ones in all.   I've been wearing this mascara almost each day since it came out. The waterproof version does not budge and it gives a loads of length.

You can find the collection wherever Cover Girl is sold and I have to say it- May The Force Be With You.

Cover Girl The Super Sizer Masacara

Cover Girl's new mascara is the low cal version of supersizing.

The Super Sizer Mascara by Lashblast has a smaller wand than Lash Blast mascaras usually do, I'm good with that as I love the "blast" mascaras a lot but not those thick wands.

The bristles grab lashes best when you twirl the wand  but regular straight brushing works too although not quite as well for all over coverage.  The twirl gives the tiny bristles in there a chance to grab all the lash .

Super Sizer is more of a length  formula than volume. It adds a lot of length but just a small amount of volume. Your lashes definitely stretch up and out with this. I am a length fan so that works for me .   I had a little clumping, but with a brand new out of the package mascara that's not unusual.

It's deeply pigmented ( I have the Very Black shade) and lashes come out deep and dark . It also  comes in Black, Black Brown and Waterproof.

Cover Girl The Super Sizer Mascara is available now for $ 5.99-$ 7.99

Eyeko Sport Mascara

Need a mascara that won't budge no matter what?   Check out Eyeko Waterproof Sport.

Sport Mascara is water, sweat and tear proof  and somehow I managed to test them all the first day I tried it. It was warm, I'm always , let's call it dewy and I even had a bit of teary moment unexpectedly. And  the mascara never smudged or ran . It didn't come off during face washing either.

I have to use waterproof formulas all the time and even some of them  smudge on me.  Some feel waterproof ones are dry  but since I'm used to them it's a non issue for me. Here I did notice a little dryness on the lashes but it was also still able to be touched up after a couple hours easily and Eyeko says that it forms an even film on lashes even if you reapply.

Sport mascara is very lengthening and adds some volume . It's smooth, very black  and  several coats went on with only very minor clumping  in one spot.

So if you need to get through an emotional wedding day, jump in the pool or spend the day at the amusement park water rides, Eyeko Sport has you covered.

Eyeko Waterproof Sport Mascara is $ 24 at Sephora

Eyeko's New  Visual Eyes Liquid Liner is a good companion to this. Precise tip and line with long ,  waterproof smudge free wear.  In black, mocha and marine.$ 19

Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara

Clinique has a new mascara on the counter. Lash Power Feathering Mascara is a long wear formula for defined lashes.

Lash Power Feathering  isn't a dramatic lash mascara but it's not barely there either.  It gives good length and definition but little to no volume. It is buildable and stays soft on lashes. As you'd guess from the name , lashes have a  light fluttery look .  Like many I like a bold lash, but sometimes in Summer when I am super warm, sweaty and oily, a mascara that defines my lashes and therefore eyes is enough. If  I do just BB,  bronzer and lips , this type of lash goes perfectly.

Also it's smudge proof. I smudge most mascaras so anytime I can find one that holds up all day , I'm happy. This stayed put on a very humid day of rain. That was a pleasant surprise . Removal is easy , it rinses off with warm water or light cleansing.

Clinique Lash Power Feathering Mascara is $ 17.50 and available now.

L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Waterproof Mascara

L'Oreal's Voluminous Butterfly Mascara now comes in waterproof for the New Year.

I never got around to trying the original Voluminous Butterfly, in some part because it wasn't waterproof and I really have to have that. So I can't compare the two but the waterproof formula here is definitely long wear with no smudging even when I had watery eyes.

The wand  has the winged out portion for the outer lashes to get the "butterfly" effect. So you do have to use it one way with that part facing the right direction. I can manage that. It gave me good length but not that much volume . The outer lashes were elongated  a little more but not a huge difference.

This does dry a little crunchy yet lashes don't feel too stiff and I was able to apply another coat long after it dried for an evening touch up.

If you loved the original but wanted a waterproof formula then this is for you. Me, I am always glad to find any mascara that doesn't run on me but I would love this to have just a little more lash oomph.

L'Oreal Voluminous Butterfly Waterproof Mascara is available now wherever L'Oreal is sold.

Eyeko- Alexa For Eyeko Eye Do Mascara & Liquid Eyeliner

This couldn't have landed on my desk at a better time as my tried and true longwear waterproof  mascaras have  the past 2 weeks deserted me.  I realized it was the different eye cream I switched to ( and now have stopped using , forget that) and this new Eyeko proved to be one that would stay all day.

With  Eye Do Mascara and Eyeliner ,Alexa For Eyeko  is a collab with Alexa Chung , who is Eyeko's new creative director.

The  Eye Do mascara is very lengthening but not very volumizing and has a deep black color. It's also super long wear and had no smudging all day.  The wand is large but pretty easy to work with.  I need at least 2 coats and often 3 for the length I want but there was no problem with build up or clumps in doing that.

The  Eye Do eyeliner is also super long wear.  I'm not one to use liquid black liner much but this one might just get more use. It's firm nib with a tiny point and glides easily across the lid.  I can't do a cat eye  at all on myself,  but a regular line at the lashes came out really well .

Eye Do Eyeliner is said to be waterproof and will last even on the waterline. I haven't tested that . Eye Do Mascara is  water resistant .

Eyeko Eye Do Mascara $ 24
Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner $ 19
Eyeko  Alexa For Eyeko Set incl. poster and guitar pick $ 39.50

Both at Sephora

Cover Girl Bombshell Volume By Lash Blast

The newest addition to the Lash Blast line from Cover Girl is Bombshell Volume. You may have already seen the ads for it in some of the magazines or drugstore ads.

New Bombshell Volume is a dual sided mascara. One side for mascara or bottom coat, one for a darkly tinted top coat.

The mascara side has a very large brush like many of the Lash Blasts. Being that each wand is attached to the middle piece, it's also a short-ish wand. The other brush end is  smaller , a  more normal mascara size.

The size of the wand does make this a little harder to work with, at least for me, but working with it was worth it as I got major length. Length is what I want most from mascara, I think most want volume, obviously both are good. My own lashes are somewhere in between. Not overly long but not short and not

While this is called " Volume" I think it does more for length and there was good definition. No clumping and lashes were separated well. There is some volume but not tons.

The formula is fairly wet, but doesn't smudge easily. Basically you do your lashes with the mascara , as many coats as you want ( I did three with no problems) and then add the top coat. That top coat is also black not clear and adds a little more deeper color to lashes while also sealing them according to Cover Girl. That only needs one coat.

Cover Girl Bombshell Volume by Lash Blast is sugg. retail $9.49- 11.99 and comes in Very Black, Black (shown), Black/Brown and Brown.

It should be in stores any time now as December is the release date.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash

Lashes to the extreme?  Sounds good to me. I love loooong lashes, who doesn't ?

New from MAC is In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash mascara.  MAC says it's a deep pitch black and it is quite dark but not really  much darker than other deepest blacks I've used. And in all honesty I'm not super into mascara  being uber black. I know I'm a rarity in that feeling.

What's more important than color to note here, is that claims of super long, defined lashes are true. I got big lashes from this with length and and thickness. One coat gets a nice beginning going then coat two really brings it out. It's buildable and takes awhile to dry .

The wear time here was great as well. Not too many MAC mascaras are long wear for me.  Their Opulash is an all time fav and I do like Extended Play a lot  , especially for length and it wears and wears  but In Extra Dimension 3D brings the volume in along with  that all day wear with no smudges .

The formula is thick-ish and the wand needs  a good wiping out of the tube so beware of that.  Lashes don't get too crunchy and this has conditioners according to MAC . Hydrogenated olive oil, olive fruit oil and panthenol are in the ingredients.

MAC In Extreme Dimension 3D Black Lash launches on Aug. 22 and is $ 21.00
