Michelle Dockery at the Golden Globes - Makeup by Chanel

Makeup Artist Jordan B. Long did Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery's makeup for Sunday's Golden Globes.

I think Michelle looked smashing and loved her Alexandre Vaulthier dress as well.

Many of the new Chanel Spring shades were used on Michelle including my current favorite blush, Frivole  and the fabulous Volume de Chanel Mascara. Read on for all the details:

INSPIRATION: Modern and sexy with Old Hollywood Glamour. Michelle is in period costume 60 percent of the time so to try something new we wanted to do a smoky eye, some high fashion and some tousled hair to highlight her new cut.

SKINCARE: I started with Chanel Hydra Beauty Serum and followed with Le Blanc de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Base all over the face with a foundation brush.

FOUNDATION: I lightly stippled Chanel Vitalumière Moisture-Rich Radiance Sunscreen Fluid Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15. Michele’s skin is so flawless - so we love to let that show through.

BLUSH: After a light dusting of translucent powder, I applied Chanel Powder Blush in Frivole to the apples o her cheeks. Michelle loves her skin to show through and I love to use highlighters and to keep her complexion dewy, so the Poudre Signée de Chanel Illuminating Powder was perfect on her cheekbones, down her nose and above her lip and her chin for brightening.

EYES: We wanted to do a smoky eye. Michelle’s character in Downton Abbey wears next to nothing, so we decided early on to go for it. Since she's wearing white and gold with burgundy shoes we wanted something warm. I used Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow in Raffinement. I applied the dark burgundy brown all over the lid. Then blending up towards the browbone, but leaving some space.

I then added Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Apparence at the center, blending the colors together. I love burgundy and gold. Michelle has a lot of reddish tones in the color of her eyes so we wanted to highlight that. We finished with a very fine line on upper lash line of Chanel Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Noir Intense.

MASCARA: I used three coats of Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir. We also added extra coats on Michelle's extra-long gorgeous lower lashes for extreme fluttery lashes.

LIPS: We wanted a very natural, nudish glossy lip. Michelle has a lot of pigment in her lips naturally, so against her pale gorgeous milky skin doing too nude doesn’t work, so we used a lipstick with a slight color: Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Sedusicante with no liner and then with a gold gloss, Chanel Rouge Allure Pure Shine Intense Colour Long Wear Lip Gloss in Attirance.
